Right. So on the one hand, this is obviously a mess and we need to do better, but on the other hand it's nice all these people didn't decide to come by car.

A large number if bicycles parked in front of the entrance to a building, in a way that can be best described as "chaos". Bike stands can be seen, but the number of bicycles far exceed the capacity and the overflow result in bikes everywhere.

Det passer fint med, at CPR siger at ordningen er frivillig, og at den blot betyder, at kreditgiver skal “udvise særlig opmærksomhed”, uden yderligere uddybning. Det er især interessant, hvis alle sætter mærket. Det er en advarsel, ikke en spærring.

Markeringer om kreditadvarsel kan fra CPR videregives til offentlige myndigheder og private virksomheder med en berettiget interesse. En markering om kreditadvarsel vil være et signal til virksomhederne om at udvise særlig opmærksomhed i forbindelse med deres identitetskontrol, før der ydes lån eller kredit. I mange tilfælde vil det være relevant at afslå lån eller kredit, fordi virksomheden har mistanke om, at den, der ønsker lån eller kredit, ikke er den, som vedkommende udgiver sig for at være. På den måde kan konkrete tilfælde af identitetsmisbrug forhindres.

Det er frivilligt, om en myndighed eller virksomhed ønsker at modtage oplysninger om kreditadvarsel fra CPR. Mange virksomheder, som yder lån eller kredit, lider imidlertid tab i forbindelse med identitetsmisbrug, og derfor vil det også være i virksomhedernes interesse at tilgå oplysninger om kreditadvarselsmarkeringer. Mange virksomheder vil skulle tilrette egne it-systemer, før de kan tilgå oplysning om kreditadvarsel i CPR. Effekten af en kreditadvarselsmarkering forventes således at stige i takt med, at virksomhederne tilretter deres it-systemer.

What’s the point of all those bollards? One is plenty.

Good to hear. We don't get those temperatures here. -10°C is considered cold, -15°C exceptional. But we do get snow and icy conditions. Like you, we have well-maintained infrastructure during winter, and as a result, many cycle year round. I'd still like us to import those covered bike stands 🌨️

It’s amusing. Around here (Copenhagen), making car lanes narrower is a popular tool for traffic calming. It takes away the race track feel, and that’s a good thing. Below example show redesign of a road near my house from recent years. A nicer street in every way.

As a result, municipalities here have created policies with aggressive snow maintenance targets (that they live up to at varying degrees). As an example, they (mostly) clear bike lanes before car lanes, and in my experience usually have good conditions for morning commutes on snowy dates.

As someone who grew up with these things 50+ years ago, I’m always surprised they are apparently a novelty to many. Oh, and - sidewalk, bike lane, car parking, car lane is the correct order. Bike lanes outside parked cars lazy & dangerous.

Min #fredagsbog er City of Illusions af Ursula K Le Guin. Jeg er ved a genlæse Hainish Cycle, i den rækkefølge de blev skrevet. Det slår mig igen igen, hvor enestående en fortæller Le Guin er. Hun er osse en af de største i SF, en evig afsøger af identitet & fællesskab, men først er hun fortæller.

You mean like this? Bike lane raised with a curb, sidewalk raised a bit more with another curb. It’s been the standard way to do a bike lane here as long as I can remember. Trees and daylighting optional but sure helps.

Min #fredagsbog er "Kastaniealleen" af Dea Trier Mørk. Jeg læste hendes fremragende "Skibet i flasken" i efteråret, så jeg syn's det var passende at fortsætte her. Begge romaner bygger på barndomserindringer - og på DTMs sans for intime portrætter gennem små, fortættede billeder.

It's just too narrow. Around here, only the pavement would be raised, not the platform, so a straight edge but only on the pavement side of the bike lane.

Lang uge meget langt hjemmefra. I dag står den på 22t i flysæder, og hvis ikke næste uge skal blive helt mast, så skal jeg helst holde mig vågen det første 10t ben, selvom energien er lav. Min #fredagsbog er derfor en hårdkogt krimi, som efterhånden har været i læsebunken tre årtier 🤷🏻‍♂️.

Part of the parking at my local mall in my district of Copenhagen. Somehow there’s never enough spaces - in part because Copenhagen folks really aren’t into underground parking or using that space around the corner.

Min #fredagsbog var "Green City Wars". Tænk klassisk Philip Marlowe, med en genmodificeret vaskebjørn i hovedrollen, i en verden af klimatilpassede byer med en underverden af hackede dyr, ude af kontrol. Tchaikovsky classic, elegant, men osse helt enkelt rigtig god krimi noir. Ingen Disney her.

Right. Car lanes, optional car parking, curb, bike lane, curb, sidewalk. Bike lane raised from car level, sidewalk further raised. They were building bike lanes like that here when I started cycling in the 60’s & 70’s.

hIt’s the main north/south traffic artery through Gentofte, connecting all the wealthy suburbs. 4+ lanes of heavy traffic, busses, etc. The house is close to the intersection with Tuborgvej / O2 as well. It’s a shame, there really nice homes along Bernstorffsvej, built before the car dominance.

One of the best ways to do traffic calming: entrance to a side street turned into a small square in front of a local pub / café, preventing rat running & creating a social space, while allowing pedestrians and cyclists to move freely.
