Truth and Reconciliation Week is coming to a close, but our commitment to truth and reconciliation, and to learning and listening, should always keep going. To help all of us to keep learning, we're sharing one of our favourite resources - Native-Land.ca. (You can find the link in our bio) (1/2)

The National Day for Truth and Reconciliation is a time to learn and reflect. One of the ways we can do this is by listening to the words of survivors. These are just a few of the powerful memoirs from residential school survivors that you can find in our library.

Sept. 28 to Oct. 2 marks Truth & Reconciliation Week here at Loyalist. For those of us who are settlers on this land, it's a time to listen, learn, and reflect, and it's an opportunity to renew our commitment to the TRC's 94 Calls to Action; they're linked in our profile. (1/2)

We're moving! Sort of . . . During Reading Week (June 15 to 19, 2026) our books are moving to another part of the Library. This means lots of noise and dust. As a safety precaution, some areas will be inaccessible, including the books, computers, and the whole upstairs level. (1/2)

The guidance in this APA Style FAQ comes from Section 8.28 of the Publication Manual (7th ed.): "Direct Quotation of Material Without Page Numbers." 🔗 instagram.com/p/DU4BMM2kWtq/ #APA7 #AcWri #APAStyleFAQ #APAreferences
Q: Can I cite a quote from a YouTube video?
A: Yes! In the in-text citation, where you would include a page number for a quote from a written work, include the time stamp instead. Use the time for the beginning of the quotation. Use this guideline from Publication Manual (7th ed.) Section 8.28 to quote from other audiovisual works too, including TV shows, podcast episodes, audiobooks, and streaming videos.
Example:
Instead of “(Espinoza, 2026, p. 15)” you would write “(Espinoza, 2026, 1:41)” to indicate the time when the quote begins.
