Wish you all the best, Jake. It was wonderful meeting you at CitizenCon, and as I've told you before; your handling of the Community has always been a great source of inspiration and benchmark to know if I was handling things correctly. I'm sure you'll excel at whatever you set out to do. 🥺 🫂

That's great! I am from Europe. Since both dictionaries are valid, we've now identified the source of our misunderstanding. Yay team!

LowkeyToq @lowkeytoq.bsky.social · 06/12/2024

I respectfully disagree. 😉

000

LowkeyToq @lowkeytoq.bsky.social · 06/12/2024

And that's messed up. Treating people with respect doesn't mean tolerating everything they do and say. If a developer or publisher does things I disagree with, then I won't give them money, I'll spread my view and I'll block them.

010

LowkeyToq @lowkeytoq.bsky.social · 06/12/2024

That's one of the definitions. Many words mean different things depending on the context. You seem to be interpreting respect entirely as definition 1 in this example, while 2 is more aligned with what I mean in this case. I feel we're deep in semantics by now so I'll respectfully drop out here 😅

LowkeyToq @lowkeytoq.bsky.social · 06/12/2024

I think that by now we're discussing what we define as respect more than the intent of the post. I believe that the OP was probably intending for people to be respectful in terms of my definition of it.

110

LowkeyToq @lowkeytoq.bsky.social · 06/12/2024

I respect your opinion, but I fundamentally disagree with that view. I choose to give people the benefit of the doubt. Being respectful and polite costs nothing and has the potential to make life easier for everyone involved.

LowkeyToq @lowkeytoq.bsky.social · 06/12/2024

Common decency. Treat everyone with a basic degree of respect and dignity, and demand they do the same. If you lack respect for the individual employees that follow the instructions from their employer, the literal entity that makes sure they can pay their bills, then I don't know what to tell you.

Please treat game developers with respect. You have no idea of what they are advocating for you on your behalf and by being toxic or negative and forcing them to make changes and playing armchair gamedev you are inevitably pushing your BIGGEST CHAMPIONS out of the room.

Doesn't mean you can't treat them with respect.

Despite not posting regularly our YT channel hit 11k subs! I am surprised at how successful some of our videos are even outside of the #StarCitizen community. I know many subscribers want more gameplay. Since our gameplay videos are real callouts it's not always ez to get good footage. We'll try!

Seems a lot of people (or a vocal minority?) absolutely hate the #StarCitizen BiS skins for the years IAE. Meanwhile I'm here unironically liking them. Feels like there's a lot of "hate-for-the-sake-of-hate" about a lot of things in SC at the moment (looking at you, Crusader Intrepid dislikers)

Quick reminder: BlueSky’s algorithm doesn’t boost posts you like. It only lets the poster know that you enjoyed their content. If you come across content you like, REPOST IT! To build a #StarCitizen feed outside X, we have to support the content we enjoy! Let's do this!
