Worked on this sketch I started a while ago! In love with these divas I cannot wait to color&render

This is the back cover+ front cover & 3rd+4th page spreads from a zine I made recently. I made all the art in addition to the writing! This particular zine is about healing & desire & licking wounds & falling in love with yourself ❤️

I CAN'T REMEMBER THE EXACT MOMENT BUT SLOWLY I STARTED FEELING LESS LIKE FRANKENSTEIN'S MONSTER AND MORE LIKE A QUILT. AN INTRICATE PATCHWORK TYING WHAT I WAS AND WHAT I AM NOW.

On the right is the 4th page of the zine with an shirt untitled poem at the top of the page + prose at the bottom of the page

The poem reads: Embracing desire I let the taste of it sit on my tongue
Mulled over the flavor
Sweetness in my veins now
Finally realizing what l want
I don't just want you to desire me. I want desire to be the song I play for myself when I dance alone in my room. I want desire to be the magic i feel when I love the rhythm of my body. I want you to see me dancing and hear the song playing too. Desire is your body wanting to dance with mine. Joining rhythms.

The prose reads: Part of growing a better relationship with myself meant meditating on my desires more and being honest with myself and others about, what I truly wanted. Establishing my connection to pleasure and sexuality outside of others allowed me to reclaim so much autonomy that I had lost. This journey also took vast amounts of reflecting on and unlearning the transactional perspectives of pleasure I had been taught.
