I haven't used Windows in a long while, but I'm gonna sell some laptops and was wondering, installing a language pack always took this long? almost 20 minutes and all I know thanks to the task manager is it's doing... something

Doom (2016) has been in my backlog for almost 10 years and now I can say I finally beat it, very enjoyable game, just a hit slow at the beginning

Hard Corps Uprising is a game… A game that should be brought back, you have any idea how freaking hard it is to get nowadays? Scouring the seven seas to find working files is super hard

I got Davinci Resolve installed in Zorin 18 very easily, some absolute legend created a script called MakeResolveDeb, it turns the weird Davinci installer into a couple .deb files, it installed them and it just worked www.danieltufvesson.com/makeresolvedeb

today's rabbit hole I went into was knowing about the telegraph, it's honestly impressive, the 1800's had the telegraph, I always thought it was linked to the phone, and there were interoceanic cables set up by this massive steam boat, a marvel of old tech and engineering

Again with the dehumidifier, this time it’s fixed for good, I took out the power supply and jankily put a barrel plug for a 9v charger, nothing else needed to fix it

All online stores have flaws Mercadolibre either doesn't send the right product or the packages are damaged in some way Amazon is way too expensive and it's all imports with them Aliexpress will not miss a chance to steal from you if you order more than one thing at a time so pick your poison...

Retroflag is a company that needs more love, just look at their tiny SNES, and the controller they sell is fantastic as well, I’ll be getting their N64 mini soon

It’s time, to finally get this one out of my backlog

I “fixed” the dehumidifier, I opened it, checked voltages, everything looked pristine, but it wasn’t turning on, I fully disassembled it, put it back together and now it works… It’s frustrating, I dunno what I did or what I inadvertently fixed, so 🤷🏻‍♀️, it works

Damn, I forgot how fun raspberry pi’s were, I just upgraded the case in my humble NAS, it looks so cool, and the SSD is not dangling precariously from one of the ports

Really bad week overall, things are going south at my job, things keep breaking, my mental health is going downhill as well, something as stupid as my switch’s modchip not working got me down a lot I’m really fed up of stuff

Alanna @lovelyalanna.bsky.social · 27/06/2026

Of all the different kinds of specializations in IT the one I dislike the most is Neworking, what a pain in the ass The NAS gets angry if you unplug it, gotta set static IPs so the magic packets reach the computer, if the internet was out the camera wouldn’t work, configure the redundant service…

where I live there's almost never a doctor in the afternoon, and I really needed my pain relief shot for a very nasty ear infection I got, so I grabbed the issue by the horns, and put it myself I won't feel that horrible ear pain, beat one of my last phobias I had and and my medical skills went +1

the first time I used linux was 22 years ago with knoppix at computer science class, then after liking what I saw the teacher gave me Mandrake Linux, good times, but good lord, 22 years ago, I'm barely phased by the pass of time, but this time it got me, it's surely been a while I've been a nerd
