I'm of the opinion that once a work gets beyond a certain length and scope, whether or not it ever gets properly "finished" isn't as important as the quality of the stuff that does get made. I think it's a good practice actually, to draw first without references, then lookup references to study and improve your drawings, then maybe do the final without refs. It's similar to how you study and learn in other disciplines, so should work for art too. 010 0

I wonder to what extent they planned what to write before writing the manuscripts, when they were making new texts instead of copying preexisting stuff. 000 0
