It takes the vibes of Buffy, Charmed, and Angel, brings them into the modern era, makes all the characters a little older (more relatable), and plays LGBT+ bingo with the cast. As it should be.

The 4th book in Hunters of Ironport dropped on Wednesday and if you haven't heard it's my answer to "I wanted those late 90s/early 00s shows to have characters more like me in them!"…

They're chosen ones. They're tired. Bust someone's gotta save the world, and looks like it's going to be them. Like it or not. Grab Overkill to get started on this series: www.louinprogress.com/hunters-of-i...

Hunters of Ironport is Lou Wilham's thrilling and gritty LGBT+ urban fantasy series perfect for fans of Buffy.

Hunters of Ironport is an adult paranormal / urban fantasy series written for tired queer millennials (like me) who wished they'd been able to see themselves represented in late 90s early 00s paranormal media. No queer baiting here, just three stupid boys who love each other and their found family.

Lou Wilham @louwilham.bsky.social · 30/07/2026

How do you make Buffy gayer? It goes a little something like this…

132

Lou Wilham @louwilham.bsky.social · 29/07/2026

It's a cozy paranormal / urban fantasy novel for tired millennials who cut their teeth on 90s/00s paranormal shows like Buffy, Angel, and Charmed. With found family, a MMM polyship that develops slowly, a trans masc lead, and two tired chosen ones who'd just like the Big Bad Vampires to go tf away.

Lou Wilham @louwilham.bsky.social · 29/07/2026

Haven't started Hunters of Ironport yet you should know I pitch this as "Buffy but gayer." When people ask me "how can Buffy be gayer?" I say, "You turn Buffy, Faith, and Willow into guys, and you smash them together. Faith is trans. And you remove the inherent misogyny of the original creator."

It's the moment you've been waiting for! (some of you not so patiently) 🩸There Will Be Blood release day is here!🩸 It's time to continue Eric, Tony, and Hunter's story. I know I left you guys kind of on a cliffhanger at the end of book 3, but I promise book 4 makes it all worth it.

Hi there. So all the current books in Ironport are either published or will be publishing soon. They are currently beyond the beta reader phase.

110

Lou Wilham @louwilham.bsky.social · 28/07/2026

Hi there! For the books I'm currently advertising, no. They're finish and either about to publish or have published recently. I do have ongoing projects tho that I may look for new readers for.

Lou Wilham @louwilham.bsky.social · 28/07/2026

Hunters of Ironport is like if Buffy was a dude, and he grew up to be a tired college teacher just trying to protect the next generation of slayers. It's an adult paranormal / urban fantasy series that will eventually have 5 books.

If you're looking for those good found family vibes with a healthy helping of queer love (and joy), and a side of vampire hunting, I've got just the thing!

Hunters of Ironport is the perfect Summerween read for fans of Buffy, Angel, and Charmed but wanted those stories to be a little more queer. The found family, a slowly blooming MMM polycule romance, spice, and slice of life scenes make this adult paranormal / urban fantasy kind of cozy… actually.

Hunter Delacroix is doing everything he can to support Eric and his horde of unruly Venator college kids. (one of them being his kid brother) Will it be enough?

100

Lou Wilham @louwilham.bsky.social · 27/07/2026

Tony McMahon is new in town. (/derogatory) He and his little sister left Florida in the rearview so Lu could join the Venator training courses at Moondale U. It's the safety net Tony always wanted for her. The question is… how safe /is/ Ironport really?

100

Lou Wilham @louwilham.bsky.social · 27/07/2026

Eric Marcelino is the tiredest chosen one you'll ever meet. He's been fighting the vampires of Ironport since he was thirteen. And honestly all he wants at this point is a nice long nap. Too bad he's not going to get it.

Sometimes your leads are just… like That ™️ If you loved The Mummy and Indiana Jones but wished they were a little gayer (not that they weren't already so many people's bi awakening 👀) and set in a modern contemporary urban fantasy setting then you're going to /love/ History Will Call Them Tombmates

- Project Romantasy. I wrote the first chapter of this a while back but I haven't been in a place where I have the time or bandwidth for it since. I'm hoping to get back to this baby soon as it's going to be a lot of fun, and it's also a bit of a step away from my normal.

Lou Wilham @louwilham.bsky.social · 23/07/2026

- Some Names Were Changed To Protect The Guilty. That's a mouthful, isn't it? I wrote this last year and I'm finally getting back around to getting it ready to query. Yes. Query. Am I nervous? Yup! But also excited! It's a step out of my cozy urban fantasy box and I think it's gonna be great.

- More (yes more) gays who tombraid. I don't have a series title for this one yet, but I think you're going to really love Wendy, Banx, and Filo. I sure loved writing them in the first draft a few months back!

Lou Wilham @louwilham.bsky.social · 23/07/2026

- Revising the 5th (and final) Moondale book. Az and Rus have brought me so much joy and community, but it's finally time for them to get their happy ending, I think.

Lou Wilham @louwilham.bsky.social · 23/07/2026

- The second (and final) Tombmates book. I started drafting this at the beginning of the month and I'm super excited where it's headed. Bat, Jace, and Valeska are in for a while ride!
