Made it to top 4 in Writing Battle Raven Solstice today, but got knocked out by a friend so can't complain! Plus other ups and downs of the contest season. I might have scored two 7s in Twist but I cracked the 50s for funniest trophies - if you can't think of a good story, write a stupid one 🥳 🎉

Last WB I spent 24+ hours on a story I loved that didn't even get a HM, and this time I wrote some nonsense in 15 mins and got elite 8. I don't know what I'm learning from this but it's fun! @writingbattle.bsky.social

bsky.app/profile/tras... It's out! I was able to rescue one of my favourite stories from behind a paywall for Trash Cat's reprint edition. It first longlisted in the Best Australian Yarn and is set at my place, though the characters are fiction, which might be why I love it so much.
