I know! That's what I loved the most about David's (and Ron Gilbert's) point-n-click games the most! They were so unbelievably creative (especially with their deaths)!😄 The puzzles were even more creative. Also, some of the game's newspaper articles still live rent-free in my head. 😁

When someone says “Vivian Amberville”, as a book series, they generally think of 5 things:

1. They think of intricate TIME LOOPS that fold time and space into impossible shapes;

2. They think of POCKET REALITIES, such as liminal spaces and cosmic backrooms, where time is both instant and infinite;

3. They think of reality-warping COMPLEX MAGIC SYSTEMS where different characters can fold, twist, bend, loop or even cut the very fabric of REALITY itself;

4. They think of a dense, TAPESTRY-LIKE PLOT supported by a huge cast of characters, each with their own unique character arc;

5. and finally, they think of eldritch creatures from the abyss of reality, which adds certain elements of COSMIC HORROR to the narrative.

Oh no. Make no mistake, a AAA game like that would be in the 100s of millions range & will require some insane REALITY-BENDING PHYSICS (large team of devs). Not entirely impossible, just extremely bloody difficult. I'm still gathering info at this point. Mind you, I'm determined not to fund it myself.

I was about 12-13 when I first started conceptualizing the Vivian Amberville series. While "Weaving" already existed as a rudimentary magic system, the plot was very different. Only 3 (simpler) time loops instead of 8. The 1st book was called "The Pattern of Existence" & was over 250K words.

8) THE UNDERWORLD RHAPSODY (9/11) - a psychedelic novella & one of my most "explicitly Jungian" stories I wrote. - it deals with drug-induced "states of altered consciousness" & existentialism. - this story immortalized me as an "oddball writer" but it's still exceptionally close to my heart.💙📚
