You need those backups for your backups.

Ah you're right, I misread the post 🫠 what are the different ways you're backing up your markdown files? Either way the Notion to markdown workflow sounds pretty nice!

Obsidian is incredibly powerful, and it's all markdown files so it's really easy to backup using the built in git and GitHub integration plugins.

What a great trip to Kitakyushu, Japan for 🤖🇯🇵 RO-MAN2026! It's quiet this time of year, but the food and hospitality were top notch. Here's a link to the preprint paper: arxiv.org/abs/2608.25495 #HRI #robotics #ROMAN2026

That's sad to see. We drove through it and the weather was brutal, I can't imagine having to weather the storm in a house on an exposed cliff face!

Those are some cute names! Queen and Her Majesty are very appropriate, any recently vacated chair becomes her throne 👑

Excited announce that I am a coauthor on a recently published paper! "Virtual realities: Is there only one advanced image display that astronomers need?", published in Astronomy and Computing, looks at better understanding visualisation in #astronomy. www.sciencedirect.com/science/arti...

For two different Christmas dinners, we made a fattoush salad and a trifle with summer fruits.

Made a Greek style feast including Horta, roast potatoes, tzatziki and kangaroo skewers (for that Aussie twist).

Honestly that's completely understandable, it's a broad course and the fact you were doing it part time over a much longer period must've made it hard to stay dedicated to it. Are you still doing any Astro photography?

That sounds like such a cool opportunity! Surely you've got the skills and experience. What other kinds of opportunities have you been looking at?

My PhD's in computer vision now, bit of a departure from physics but a really interesting area.

Not bad Ibnul! PhD is a fun new challenge :) How've you been? Have you had the chance to apply what you learnt in your physics degree?

Nearly finished processing a dataset of short (3-20 second) videos, trying to estimate the pose and positions of people in each frame. It's taken nearly 55 hours of compute time on a supercomputer 🥴 I've got to be doing something wrong...
