12 - Grandia (Switch) While it may not have the best story or combat system, Grandia truly embodies the spirit of adventure Discovering new lands in a quest to uncover the mysterious downfall of an ancient civilization with some of the most endearing characters was truly a magical experience 9/10

A new Rhythm Heaven makes me so incredibly happy. I played Rhythm Heaven Fever back in 2022. It was catchy, engaging, and was oozing with charm. It became one of my favorite games of all time. It's release date of 2026 stings, but damn, I haven't had a reveal make me feel that estatic in a long time

11 - Shovel Knight: King of Cards (Switch) Another great campaign and a satisfying send off to Shovel Knight. King Knight has a simple yet inventive moveset that makes you strategize your platforming routes through these creative levels, testing your knowledge of said moveset. 9.25/10

10 - Ace Attorney: Trials and Tribulations (Switch) No one could have ever prepared me for how incredible this game was. The way they set up all of these weaving storylines and had them culminate in such a satisfying way in Bridge to Turnabout was absolutely brilliant. What a sendoff 10/10

9 - Super Mario World (Switch) I can't believe I've never beaten this game until now, but I had an enjoyable time. The game is a short, but sweet adventure with all of the levels feeling well designed and fun to play through. Definitely enjoyed this more than Super Mario Bros 3. 8/10

8 - Cuphead: The Delicious Last Course (Switch) I finally got around to beating the final boss of the DLC after giving up in 2022. Cuphead overall (dlc included) is one of the greatest Indie Games ever created and is such an achievement. The DLC was somehow better than the base game. 10/10

7 - New Super Mario Bros U. Deluxe It's fine. 6/10

6 - Super Monkey Ball: Banana Rumble (Switch) Had a great time playing through the story mode, especially with my girlfriend. All the stages are super fun and make you play with the physics systems in creative ways with increasing difficulty I hate Tornado Ring, worst stage in the game 8.25/10

Nintendo Switch #180 - Ring Fit Adventure This game has escaped me for so damn long. I've always wanted this game, but for some reason, I always forgot about it and never got around to purchasing it. Now, I finally have it in my collection. I hope it's as fun as everyone has made it out to be

Nintendo Switch #179 - Ender Lilies: Quietus of the Knights Glad I picked this one up. I had been looking for this game for a long time, but all the copies selling on Ebay were way too pricey. Finally bought it when it was getting a reprint by VGP. I will definitely get Magnolia in the future

5 - Mario & Luigi: Brothership I think it's pretty indictive that after I beat the final boss, I was praying that there wasn't another boss phase I still think this game is enjoyable, the messaging of the story is as subtle as a hammer to the head, but I did feel sad at the ending cutscene 7/10

Nintendo Switch #178 - A Space for the Unbound Got this game off of an online sale. Really excited to eventually play this. The game has beautiful pixel and character art and from what I can ascertain, tells an emotional story. Hope I find something to love in this

LotadStack @lotadstack.bsky.social · 28/01/2025

4 - Curse Crackers: For Whom The Belle Toils (Switch) I wish I liked this game more. It has a timeless GBC aesthetic with gorgeous character art and solid platforming movement But the camera is way too zoomed in, levels have too many collectibles, and the level design is just okay 5.5/10

110

LotadStack @lotadstack.bsky.social · 19/01/2025

3 - Neon White (Switch) Great game. Gameplay and level design promotes speedrunning and genuinely feels exhilerating to complete all of the shooting and platform challenges presented However, the game gets incredibly exhausting to play towards the end, especially the Neon Green boss fights 8/10

LotadStack @lotadstack.bsky.social · 18/01/2025

2 - Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney - Justice For All (Switch) Honestly, I think this game is seriously underrated. While I do agree this will probably be the "worst" entry in the trilogy, Case 2 is great and Case 4 was amazing The only thing that holds this game back is unsurprisingly Case 3 8.5/10

Nintendo Switch #177 - Ys Memoire: The Oath of Felghana Got this game a few days ago and really enjoyed all of the goodies that came with it. I'm excited to get into the Ys Series. I think I want to try out Ys Origin as my first entry into the series, but I'm excited to play this in the future

1 - Radiant Historia Perfect Chronology (3DS) I really enjoyed my time with this game tackling politics related to resource scarcity and time travel The game doesn't reach the great highs of other JRPGs and drags a bit towards the middle, but it is still an incredibly worthwhile experience 9/10

Nintendo Switch #176 - Grandia HD Collection After looking for an ESRB copy for so long, I finally found one. This game is definitely one of the rarer games I own in my collection now. Super stoked to play this sometime this year and see if this game lives up to it's legendary status

Nintendo Switch #175 - WarioWare Get It Together! Funnily enough, this is my first WarioWare game I've added to my collection. I've never been interested in trying WarioWare games mainly due to their short run time. Luckily, this was on sale, so I will finally get to try this series out

Nintendo Switch #174 - Romancing Saga 2: Revenge of the Seven The last Christmas present I got in 2024. Initially, I wasn't interested in this game, but once I heard extremely positive word of mouth, it convinced me that I should get a copy. Excited to see what this game offers!

Nintendo Switch #173 - Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake I have been anticipating the release of this ever since it got announced 3 years ago. While I'm usually a bit ambivalent towards remakes, this will be my first time playing DQ3 so it was the perfect situation for me to give this remake a shot

120

LotadStack @lotadstack.bsky.social · 02/01/2025

Nintendo Switch #172 - Mario Vs Donkey Kong Got this as a Christmas present. This game has surprisingly beautiful visuals and looks like a fun puzzle game. Hope this remake brings this series back to it's roots rather than just being about the minis. I can't wait to play this with my girlfriend

110

LotadStack @lotadstack.bsky.social · 30/12/2024

Nintendo Switch #171 - Valkyria Chronicles Remastered Got this recently from Limited Run games. Heard a lot of great things about this series and wanted to give it a shot. I've been wanting to dabble more into the SRPG genre besides just playing the latest Fire Emblem game. Hopefully I enjoy this!

Nintendo Switch #170 - Cocoon Unfortunately, I don't have too much to say on Cocoon. All I know is the game is made by some staff who were a part of the development for Limbo and Inside. I also heard that this was a cool puzzle game so I'm excited to try it out

Nintendo Switch #169 - Fantasian Neo Dimension When I first heard of this game, the fact that the game was being produced by Sakaguchi and had a gorgeous diorama aesthetic had me excited. However it was locked to mobile. Now that it has finally been ported to consoles, I can't wait to play it

Got Mario vs Donkey Kong, Dragon Quest 3 HD-2D Remake, and Romancing Saga 2 Remake for Christmas this year. For Black Friday, I got a lot of stuff, but some personal favorites were SMT Digital Devil Saga 1-2, Etrian Odyssey Nexus, and Etrian Odyssey 2 Untold (forgot to take a photo of this one).

Black Friday purchase (Not my photo, just a Black Friday listing. Got standard edition, not limited edition version)

Got a pretty good haul of games for Christmas this year! I didn't ask for too many games this year, but I'm incredibly happy with what I got especially DQ3. Also wanted to show what gifts I got for my friends this year. So glad that Forgotten Land was discounted at Best Buy

Here's my Nintendo Switch 2024 Year in Review Thought this year was pretty great in terms of game output and games that I played. A lot of what I played didn't come out this year, but what I did end up playing, I usually fell in love with. Incredibly excited for Nintendo's new console next year

Nintendo Switch #168 - Tomba! Special Edition Have heard many great things about Tomba over the years and am excited to play it. I have mostly just played Nintendo games, but I want to start delving into Playstation. I will probably go on a little Playstation excursion when Suikoden 1&2 comes out

100

LotadStack @lotadstack.bsky.social · 16/12/2024

Nintendo Switch #167 - WitchSpringR Got this during a Black Friday sale at VGP games. Heard that this was a surprisingly great jrpg with a mix of Final Fantasy and Atelier made for mobile originally. Excited to play this eventually and see if I'm surprised like everyone else has been with this game

LotadStack @lotadstack.bsky.social · 15/12/2024

Nintendo Switch #166 - Dead Cells Return to Castlevania I've heard many great things about Dead Cells over the years, but I'm a bit hesitant to play it. I'm not the biggest fan of Rougelikes as I mostly prefer handcrafted level design, but whenever I'm in the mood, I'll give it an honest shot

I saw that a number of people were posting games from their collection on Saturday and wanted to join the trend. Klonoa Phantasy Reverie Series is one of my personal favorites in my collection. Klonoa 1 and Klonoa 2 are both some of my favorite games of all time #randomgamesaturday

I still am in pure shock that Okami is finally returning especially with Kamiya at the helm. I give the Game Awards a lot of shit (not without reason, they relegated Best RPG to a side reel), but that reveal was genuinely insane and I have to give a lot of props. Can't believe Clover Studios is back

I don't typically buy PS2 games, but when these were on sale at PNP Games, I knew I had to purchase them immediately. The boxart for Shin Megami Tensei Digital Devil Saga 1 & 2 are so absurdly gorgeous while being minimalist in an artistic approach. Incredibly happy to add these to my collection!

This game holds a special place in my heart. I decided to start collecting video games because I wanted to own Planet Robobot physically. I spent months going to the same Retro Game store looking for this game. After a year, I finally found it. One of my favorite moments collecting I've ever had

This is the copy I bought from my local Retro Game store I mentioned in this post back in 2021

According to NateTheHate on his podcast with MVG (highly recommend watching their podcast for great technical, insider info, and knowledgeable insight on the games industry) Kirby Planet Robobot is the next game that is getting ported to Switch which is extremely exciting if true

Nintendo Switch #165 - Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengenace I already own the original 2021 release of SMT V, but heard so much positive feedback for this rerelease that I had to pick it up. I haven't gotten around to playing the SMT series, but I have massive respect for the legacy it has made

130

LotadStack @lotadstack.bsky.social · 27/11/2024

Nintendo Switch #164 - Super Monkey Ball Banana Rumble I played through Banana Mania a few years ago and while I didn't love it, I still enjoyed myself. I'm stoked to play this since it's finally a true sequel to the mainline Monkey Ball games and has beautiful redesigned art for the characters

110

LotadStack @lotadstack.bsky.social · 26/11/2024

Nintendo Switch #163 - Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collection As soon as a physical copy was announced, I knew I had to get it. Even though I'm not an active fighting game player, I love watching content surrounding fighting games and knew I wanted a preserved copies for all of these great classics

100

LotadStack @lotadstack.bsky.social · 25/11/2024

Nintendo Switch #162 - Balatro Not a super niche pick up, but decided to finally get this after it got discounted for Black Friday. I don't play poker much at all, but I'm incredibly intrigued by the concept. Can't wait to see if this game hooks me like everyone else when I play it soon

110

LotadStack @lotadstack.bsky.social · 24/11/2024

Nintendo Switch #161 - Ys X: Nordics I've always wanted to get into the Ys series. Although I think I'm going to start with Origins, the character art on the box was so captivating and I just had to get it even if I won't play it for awhile. Combat looks super flashy as well from what I've seen!

Nintendo Switch #160 - Tales from Toyotoki Arrival of the Witch Got this on discount around last month due to how beautiful the art was. Heard that this was a heartfelt visual novel that has charming likeable characters. Excited to play it sometime before the end of the year!
