Tim @lostinvhs.bsky.social · 01/10/2026Well, my health worries came back very soon after this post, but I had a procedure this week that quite definitively ruled out what I was concerned about. To celebrate I've booked to see a load of London Film Festival things, and I'm out to the pub tomorrow evening. Christ, what a couple of months. 020
Tim @lostinvhs.bsky.social · 27/08/2026Not posted on here lately because I had a bit of a health worry that scared the hell out of me. Barely been able to watch a film or read a book or function generally in 3 weeks. But I had some test results yesterday that suggest I'm okay. A huge relief. Looking forward to life returning to normal. 140

Tim @lostinvhs.bsky.social · 02/08/2026Moved back to my mum's for 3 weeks with the trams being off as it was easier to get to work from hers. It was nice in lots of ways but they're back on tomorrow, and today I'm getting settled back into my flat and returning to normality. Looking forward to being able to get out and do things again! 100
Tim @lostinvhs.bsky.social · 31/07/2026Nice! Hope you enjoy it when you get to it. Will let you know what I think of the newer one ☺️ 110
Tim @lostinvhs.bsky.social · 31/07/2026Ah thank you, I will seek it out! Sadly the original isn't on a streaming platform but it's cheaply rentable. Glenn Ford is a bad guy in it but he's really quite charming! 110
Tim @lostinvhs.bsky.social · 31/07/2026Have you ever watched the original 3:10 to Yuma? I really like it! Still not seen the newer one and really want to. 210

Tim @lostinvhs.bsky.social · 30/07/2026Watched the documentary this morning - utterly horrifying. 100
Tim @lostinvhs.bsky.social · 30/07/2026The '70s film? I don't really like horror things much but I saw it a few years ago and thought it was great. 110
Tim @lostinvhs.bsky.social · 26/07/2026Finished reading Mrs Bridge by Evan S Connell yesterday. I really liked it. There's a companion book, Mr Bridge, that I'm keen to read as well. Didn't realise until the other day but there's a Merchant Ivory adaptation too which is supposed to be very good. #filmsky 📽️🎬 #booksky 📚 150
Tim @lostinvhs.bsky.social · 24/07/2026Not done #LetterboxdFriday for a few weeks but here are my #LastFourWatched: Local Hero (1983), The Quiet Girl (2022), Not Fourteen Again (1996), and The Fallen Idol (1948). @letterboxd.social #filmsky 🎬📽️ 0240
Tim @lostinvhs.bsky.social · 22/07/2026A woman who I was helping yesterday at work said to me: "You have a great voice, you know. You could have a podcast or a radio show." No one's ever said that to me before. Whenever I've heard my voice recorded I think I sound horribly nasal, but there we are. 010
Tim @lostinvhs.bsky.social · 20/07/2026I re-watched The Quiet Girl. A beautiful, powerful film. #filmsky 📽️🎬 boxd.it/flm74dboxd.itA ★★★★★ review of The Quiet Girl (2022)Wondered if I could get to the end of this without getting teary-eyed this time but I couldn't. 110

Tim @lostinvhs.bsky.social · 11/07/2026Finished the Helen Garner diaries today. I'm going to miss reading them! They're so raw and honest and vulnerable. I'm glad I've got loads of her work still to read though. #booksky 📚 030

Tim @lostinvhs.bsky.social · 25/05/2026Just watched What's Up Doc (1972) which is on iPlayer at the moment. My fourth Peter Bogdanovich, after Paper Moon, The Last Picture Show, and Targets. All such different films, all extremely good. Never really kept up with who had which bag but I think it's fine. #filmsky 📽️🎬 000
Tim @lostinvhs.bsky.social · 25/05/2026Was out yesterday so only saw the goings-on of Pep's last game in retrospect. It's strange thinking he's gone. I expect we'll drop back a bit now. Guess I won't always feel like this but if we don't win anything again, it's fine. Until 2008 I never expected this to happen to begin with. 000
Tim @lostinvhs.bsky.social · 22/05/2026Sorry if I'm a bit late on this but have you ever seen Jewel Robbery from 1932? Tim @lostinvhs.bsky.social · 20/05/2026Re-watched Wake in Fright (1971) last night. It's very good, and looks incredible in 4K on the big screen - but approach with caution, particularly for a kangaroo sequence that's a tough watch. Also features a young Dorothy Burke off Neighbours playing a creepy hotel receptionist. #filmsky 📽️🎬 020
Tim @lostinvhs.bsky.social · 19/05/2026Last night I went to see The Christophers. Found it very so-so. Ian McKellen and Michaela Coel were both good but the script was a bit too knowing: very witty but rather inauthentic. Also, I didn't realise James Corden was going to be in it 🤢 A middling three stars from me. #filmsky 🎬📽️ 000
Tim @lostinvhs.bsky.social · 17/05/2026Well I can do my #LastFourWatched now, even though it's not #LetterboxdFriday anymore: The Heiress (1949), The Girl Chewing Gum (1976), National Gallery (2014), and Floating Clouds (1955) @letterboxd.social #filmsky 🎬📽️ 040
Tim @lostinvhs.bsky.social · 17/05/2026Watched The Heiress (1949) last night, and it was very good. It was based on Washington Square by Henry James. Olivia de Havilland was brilliant and I really liked the ambiguity in Montgomery Clift's performance. It's streaming on Channel 4 in the UK for another week. #filmsky 📽️🎬 010
Tim @lostinvhs.bsky.social · 15/05/2026Was going to watch a film tonight so that I could do my last four watched for #LetterboxdFriday (I've only watched three films this week) but it's nearly 10:30 on Friday evening and I can't be bothered. #filmsky 🎬📽️ 150
