Damn millennials, ruining nightclubs.
A screenshot from Duolingo. The translation from Welsh states "Owen's nightclub is selling parsnips". Welsh Duolingo is obsessed with parsnips. Not leeks!

Today at the library, I found this heartbreaking snapshot of family life in a kids Christmas book. I think the last line reads, "Do you miss Dad?"
A note, seemingly written between young siblings, that reads,
"Sib 1 - Am so sorry love from Ivy xxx
Sib 2 - Me too is mum being rude
Sib 1 - Your rite (sic)
Sib 2 - Bo you miss bad (sic)

Trying to grow heritage tomatoes for the first time (only grown cherry toms before). These are Ananas and I'm quite proud of myself.
Three heritage tomatoes in varying degrees of ripeness; one greeny yellow, one pale peach and one almost red.

Now I don't want to cast aspersions about the zookeeping staff here, but I'm pretty sure someone's been messing with the tigers.
A vintage illustration of a tiger with a human face that appears to be wearing eight other human faces as a wig.

Now that's a nice cover. William Faulkner - Light in August, 1960 #booksky #faulkner
The cover for William Faulkner's Light in August in a lovely shade of English Mustard yellow, black and cream. The name Faulkner makes the centre of the cover, designed in cubist style.

My week is still not improving. Thanks Peanut for the vomit. You shouldn't have.
A tuxedo cat sits on a blue chair. She is unimpressed at being disturbed by the human who has just discovered a massive streak of vomit on the chair and the pale grey carpet.

Acting the trendsetter today, wearing my cardigan as a wraparound skirt while I wait for my jeans to dry after a bird shat on them. I am having a terrible week.
A bottom half selfie. I'm wearing a long grey cardigan as a skirt and showing off my pink panda socks

Mrs peanut is not so sure about the new addition to the house. #tuxedocat #lego
On the left, a life sized tuxedo cat made out of Lego in seated pose. On the right, standing, with a very confused look on her face, is Mrs Peanut, a real life tuxedo cat.

Everything is terrible. Have a picture of my chunky cat. She is asking me for more dinner but she is too fat and the Irish vet nurse scares me.
An overweight black and white tuxedo cat stares through the camera into your very soul. She is trying to command the photographer's brain to get more chicken.

Currently reading I Capture the Castle by Dodie Smith.
The cover of I Capture the Castle by Dodie Smith. It is a cutaway image of the castle with four figures in separate rooms, lit in silhouette by golden light. The is a moat with two swans in the foreground.

Now this is a beautiful thing. Die-cut, velour covered, lovely heavy paper. Congrats Flux House books on the stunning presentation of Matt Kindt's Hairball. Not sure if I should be reading it this late at night though. #booksky
Black velour outer cover of Hairball by Matt Kindt, Tyler Jenkins and Hilary Jenkins. It has two golden cats eyes showing through the die cut cover. It looks way dustier in this photo than it is in real life. Promise. The inner cover of Hairball by Matt Kindt. The end papers are a warm, dusky blush pink. The title cover has a black cat's face, it's eyes are crooked and golden, it has blood on its nose and teeth.

Just read Grim vol 3 by Phillips, Flaviano, Renzi. The weakest volume I'd say simply due to where we are in the overall plot (lots of introspection, not much action) but still excellent. Jess is really figuring herself out while hell goes to hell. Beautiful art throughout. 4.5 stars

This is Mrs Peanut. She will demand chicken at 10.30pm on the dot. Woe betide you if you do not deliver.
Mrs Peanut, a tuxedo cat with very polite paws, stares forlornly at the camera. She has not eaten in minutes.

Why does this man have his torso on backwards?
A dreadful illustration from the book 'How to live with a neurotic cat' (1985) of a man jumping in surprise, and who appears to be wearing his body back to front.
