Christine Baranski and Richard E Grant in a poster image advertising the play Hay Fever. Christine wears a sparkling outfit and stands next to Richard, who wears a formal suit with a bow tie. They are posing in an elegant room with a chandelier and striped wallpaper.

Poster for The Motive and the Cue, featuring Mark Gatiss and Johnny Flynn. The two performers stand back-to-back in thoughtful poses. One holds a folder and seems to be pondering, while the other has a hand on their chin. The image is in a black and white tone.

It was the same thing with his Oklahoma rally last week. Durant is a little town in the reddest part of Oklahoma. Why there, besides proximity to the Dallas airport?

Also, he's going to Durant. If Republicans are worried about SE Oklahoma...

It's likely to rain on Trump's rally in Durant, OK today, which is amusing -- but more amusing is his avoidance of purple OKC and Tulsa. (Durant is a town of 18,000 in extremely red SE OK.)

Just watched the first 2 eps of Tommy &Tuppence. For me the show doesn't remotely work as adaptation, but the leads Antonia Thomas and Josh Dylan are enjoyable and it's fun to see faves like Imelda Staunton and, in the upcoming eps, Alex Jennings.

A review I read talked about the will-they-won't-they vibe of this adaptation, which isn't what I love T&T for. But the actors are attractive and there are great guest stars, so I will give it a chance.

I have been anxious about this adaptation because I do love (despite their flaws) the Christie characters. Your comment suggests I am right to be anxious.

A great woman has left us. May flights of angels sing her to her rest.

Instagram is packed with footage of bulldozers just destroying Big Bend at Trump’s behest and it is so upsetting. There are glyphs there dating back thousands of years and we will never get back what he’s done here. www.nytimes.com/2026/08/15/u...

Trump Backed Away From a Wall at Big Bend. But the Bulldozers Are Here.

Over the objections of environmentalists, local sheriffs and some state leaders, the Trump administration appears to be moving ahead with border infrastructure in one of Texas’ most beloved parks.

Dana Thomas, who wrote the wonderfully researched Gods and Kings about Galliano and McQueen, says on her Substack that she knew he was on a "rehabilitation" tour sponsored by Anna Wintour.

Post a perfect album from the 90s that isn't Nirvana, Soundgarden, Pearl Jam, or Alice in Chains. I considered Blur Parklife or Oasis What's the Story Morning Glory, but I am too basic for that.

The cover of The Verve's album Urban Hymns.

I visited the small town of Marfa, TX. A local mariachi band greeted us with a song they wrote for our campaign! Our Frontera Tour has been full of special moments — but this was a highlight. 🎶

True. Also, those opening pages of how Valancy was smothered by small-town conformity and emotionally abused by her family feel so real that the fantasy of what follows seems earned.

Generation Jones here. I did read the Little House books, but LMM was much more my jam. The Anne books were great, yes, with Rilla of Ingleside doing more to fix WWI in my mind than most history classes, but The Blue Castle was IT for me.

They're on the Southbank near Waterloo. The Old Vic is nearby (although I can't imagine Paxton wants to see an all-female cast do Glengarry Glen Ross, which is on at the moment).

Spent an enjoyable afternoon at an NT Live screening of Les Liaisons Dangereuses. Lesley Manville is a force of nature, and Aidan Turner made for a really different Valmont. I was intrigued that the original play ending wasn't used, though.
