I know it’s tough to apply modern labels to historical figures who didn’t have access to to our vocab, so it’s at least fair to say that we know of at least 250 AFAB soldiers who identified as men to fight in the Civil War, and that many of them maintained that identity before and until they died.

💯 Especially right now. Lots of relaxed fit women’s pants are being cut longer than advertised so that they give the “cool menswear for women” silhouette that’s in at the moment. I’m 6’1” and sometimes have to hem these to keep the hem off the ground.

Reasonably accurate for a TV show! As far as these things go. My primary note is that it massively understates how much more money Dior had to start his house. He was immediately the most well-resourced designer in the world, which allowed him to capitalize enormously on his early good publicity.

I think they’re similar in the way that you’ve pointed out, but fashion is so much more of an extreme example because it is so capital intensive. Starting a real brand of any size costs ~500x what’s needed to care for and feed a painter.
