The Enslaved Roots "I know it looks a bit terrifying at times, but this swamp fills me with sadness. You know? It used to be a forest once…" #DarkFantasy #DigitalArt #ConceptArt

The artwork depicts a surreal, macabre landscape dominated by a swamp of deep crimson fluid and twisted vegetation. In the center, a knot of dark, tangled roots rises from the red waters, forming a silhouette that strongly resembles a clawed, skeletal hand reaching toward the sky.

The foreground and midground feature gnarled roots coiling through the red marsh, alongside several severed tree stumps with bloody, ragged edges. In the background, pale, ghost-like tree trunks stand in a dense fog beneath a glowing sky rendered in soft pastel shades of violet, blue, and pink.

MEPHALA V.2n An experimental necro-cyborg powered by a modified Dwemer core and necromancy. Inspired by The Elder Scrolls. Recorded in Lorem's journal. [Full English lore translation is attached to the Alt Text of the image] #art #conceptart #tes

Conceptual art of a biomechanical creature named 'Mephala V.2n', presented as a page from an ancient grimoire on a textured parchment background. The central figure is a stylized humanoid and arachnid automaton with multiple arms and blade-like limbs. Its metallic armor features iridescent highlights in shades of green and purple, revealing an internal skeleton underneath. The head is a skull-like mask with multiple glowing violet eyes. Surrounding the main illustration are detailed anatomical diagrams, technical schematics of a mechanical core, and handwritten annotations in cursive calligraphy.

English transcription of my writings:

"It is completely incapable of performing any task other than the one it was created for, and its humanoid form must not induce any kind of empathy in those who have the misfortune of seeing it, for its sole reason for being is... "To murder".

So well, that empathy thing is not something it practices much. Luckily, I consider it an emergency resource; I will only issue orders to it if strictly necessary.

Its inner workings are not entirely mechanical; in fact, beneath the metal lies a skeleton reanimated using a powerful necromantic spell. Therefore, even though much of its operation is thanks to complex mechanisms powered by a (modified) Dwemer centurion core inside its ribcage... it is, in fact, a sort of experimental necro-cyborg. (In other words, not an automaton)"

Strange swamp creature: an inexplicable seal, cat, and fox hybrid recorded in Lorem's journal. #CreatureDesign #FantasyArt #ConceptArt #DigitalPainting #ArtOnBluesky #Illustration #Bestiary
