I'm realizing that I struggle a bit with these top down 2D Platformers/Metroidvanias :' D Game is still fun though, loved the characters in this one.

A summer's day HAPPY #viaeday2026 ♥ still love these two

Aegis Alver and Vicious from tales of crestoria on a train (something like the TGV) wearing casual modern clothes. You ar looking at them froma top side view. Aegis sitting on the seat closer to the aisle, while Vicious, technically by the window seat, is laying down. His head is on Aegis lap, his feet by the window. One arm under his head, the other further back falling into the aisle. He has a big grin on his face, eyes closed. Aegis is looking down on him with a smile, one hand caressing Vicious face, the other arm on the arm rest, his hand holding up the side of his head. Half his face is obscured by hair. Behind them there are 2 characters sitting, but you don't see the heads (its Misella and Kanata), on the right side you see some feet with sandals (yuna), and at the front you can see a bit of hair (Orwin). The image is colored in reds and yellows, sun falling in through the window and shining on our main couple.

This might be one off my favorite games this year. Some of the UI and the timetravel can be a bit annoying at times but damnn everything else is so good. Once I don't have a list of games to play I want to replay it and get all the knights I couldn't meet or recruit.

Pretty short game but it fits the price. Art and atmosphere is great. Finding the timing to block attacks (especially in later fights) was a bit tricky but overall a fun and short experience.

This is such a good bullet hell game! I didn't expect much for the price but I was really positively surprised! Only thing i don't like are the controller settings(but you can reasign). Still trying to get a better ending cause that final boss is HARD. Still, hidden gem, big time reccomend, PLAY IT!

After about 50h I think I can put this on this list, too. Trunbound is an auto inventory battler, and pretty fun. Though I think I'm now at a point where I'm not smart enough to figure out the best combinations 😂 The art is pretty.

Tbh I was worried I would get bored of Toem real quick, but it was actually very charming from beginning to end. Really enjoyed playing it.

Less of a city builder and more of a puzzle game but still quite fun. Some of the challenges were a bit too frustrating for me though to keep figurning out 😂 Luckily there is a bunch of easier stuff to do in the game.

A fun city-builder game, thats not too complicated. Didn't care much for the story though, and occasionally I was confused what to do. Anyway, still fun a fun game!

Absolutely lovely game. Running around as a mouse, collecting and building stuff with a good story. Do wish there was more inventory space to start with but other than that, it felt like a cozier version of don't starve.

Guess who finally played Celeste 🥹 And omg the platforming is really fun~ Still have to do the chapters after credits roll but I think I'm gonna take my time with them (they are definitely harder than the previous chapters lol) BUT still very fun, glad I finally played it.

close up of Vicious and Aegis looking at each other lovingly, around them is a heart

Aegis ALver and Vicious from Tales of Crestoria fishing at a lake , with fishing rods in their hands. Its the evening and the sun is going down, environment is in blues and orange and yellow. Light is reflected in the water. They have taken off some clothes (Jackets, Shoes) and sitting at the edge of a foot bridge. They look at each other lovingly with a smile, Vicious leans into Aegis space and Aegis has one of his hands up to Vicious face.

Had real trouble figuring out the controls/physics in this game, especially towards the end it got quite frustrating. I'm also not really comfortable playing with keyboard and mouse I guess 😅 Luckily, with the accesibility options I was still able to play the story to the end.

I dont really play Horror games but I liked the look of the game so I gave it a try. Gotta say, it reminded me again that I really dont like shooters all that much :' D story and art is pretty good in this one though, definitely recommending it alone for that!

Guess I'm trying to see how many games I can still finish before the end of the year :D And finally got around to play Neva. Didn't get to me as emotional as Gris but it's still a absolutely beautful game. Also surprisingly, I really enjoyed the combat in this one. excited to see what they do next~

Alicja @loreleimelodei.bsky.social · 13/12/2025

After Silksong I kind of felt the platforming fell a little bit short, so I'm glad I played Symphonia which is only that and no combat. It's short but tbh I didnt get all the collectibles and didnt do the harder mode either lol Really loved it though ♥

Alicja @loreleimelodei.bsky.social · 07/12/2025

A lovely little pixel game. Loved the characters and some of the villagers stories made me cry :') I wish I had it for the switch, its a perfect game to play like an hour a day to collect ingredients and get through a bit of story. UI can be a bit of a pain though.

I'm finally done with Silksong! While I still think it's flawed and it probably won't become my fav in the genre, I still believe it's a must play for anyone who loves Metroidvanias. Beautiful, fun and hours upon hours of playtime. Let's hope Team Cherry gets their next game out sooner :' D

Finished Hades 2! (bought it back when it was in early access) While I have some mixed feelings about the ending, I still very much adore the game and its characters(I have 180h of playtime in it after all lol). Again, an absolut banger from SGG, can't wait to see what they do next!

For the longest time I didn't get Cult of the Lamb because I thought I would get obsessed with it.. unfortunately I didn't really like it 🥲 Runs felt like a chore, building a cult got boring kinda quickly. It's a shame to say that the art style was the thing that kept me going until the end.

Mario Kart World. Haven't played a Mario Kart in a loooong time and technically only bought it, because it was cheaper together with the Switch 2. What can I say, it's fun. Maybe I'll get Gold one day on those Knock-Out Tour Races XD

Wasn't sure I would like Chained Echoes at all, but I really loved the story! Combat has its ups and downs but overall also good. Definitely getting the DLC too when it gets released. Sienna is best girl.
