the deck i built felt special, niche, unique and interesting. sphinx kindred wasn't a well supported archetype until this set. it required me to actually think about my deck construction, treat it with care, get excited about it. and now... sphinxes have a pretty solid, but boring commander option

i had started working on a new sphinx themed commander deck, helmed by Unesh. finished the brew last night, and was excited to playtest it digitally before actually buying the cards and building it in paper. It was clever, had some pet cards i really enjoyed, and felt like a series of riddles. (1/5)

y'know, this test did affirm some things, though i'm not sure it paints the full picture. there's a lot of rage and sorrow there in the writing that i've worked on so far. but i think they come from that place of affection for the beauty in the world.
