Do people not work here on Fridays? Anyway, seems like a possible slow day today. Might sneak out to catch a movie.

Lord Mangoat @lordmangoat.bsky.social · 09/10/2026

At my new work location. Feels weird being here today. One of the lights in this loading dock area was on, when I opened the door. One of the random ones in the middle of the room. These are motion sensor lights. I don't get how it was on with the rest off. The rest of the building all seems dark.

The other day I had checked the trade-in value of my M1 #iPad Pro & it was about $500. Checked again last night and it was down to $410. Think I'll trade it in. I only ever use it for doing taxes. Otherwise it's just dead in my bag.

Sent my #AppleWatch out for repairs. I feel naked without it. Plus I keep checking my wrist for the time or weather info, but it's not there.

My issue with The Batman was more so the push for him to be more detective-like, which I get was the point of the movie, but it turned out to just be a detective with a costume at that point. My other issue with it was the audio balance. Some parts had the foot steps louder than the dialog.

Honestly wasn't interested in the Duo when announced. The more content I see about it, the more I actually get interested in it. At first I wasn't a fan of the no FaceID & return of finger print reader, but I have an Apple Watch, which unlocks the Duo anyway. Still don't care for the color options.

Not a waste of energy, but switching to different platforms isn't a fix to the issue. The issue is the law that is forcing this change on things like Discord.

Agreed. If they jump, they jump. I don't mean to say not to, but expect this same thing on other platforms at some point. Unless the laws forcing it are changed/removed.

030

Lord Mangoat @lordmangoat.bsky.social · 22/09/2026

I wasn't really saying to accept it, but changing platforms doesn't really help. Those too will likely be forced into the same situation. Users will eventually grow tired of jumping ship. By no means is the law forcing this an ok one. I know it's bad and I know Discord had user data leaked before.

150

Lord Mangoat @lordmangoat.bsky.social · 22/09/2026

I'm not thrilled about it either, but I just want to point out that it'll be pointless to jump to something else, because whatever people migrate to will end up getting the same laws forced on them.

7110

Lord Mangoat @lordmangoat.bsky.social · 22/09/2026

I get everyone is upset about this, but a reminder: This is something that will become industry standard. Not because Discord did it, but because they are being forced into doing it. Other countries are putting this into law. If devs don't do it, then they can't have the software in those countries.

With a code in the box, you can at least send all those packaging materials to recycling. GKC requires you to have that cart with no data to play the game.

I was excited for D4 coming to Switch 2. Most of all in 3 days. It being a download is kind of expected, tbh. At least it isn't a GKC, which imo is worse than a code-in-box. Having D4 announced for Switch 2 the same day they announce D5 is in development kind of sucks though.

I hope Xbox cancels the project, because it'll use stupid AI-slop, something Kojima likes to use. Then again, Microsoft has said they wasn't to be an AI company, so who knows. Hopefully Sony, Xbox, Microsoft, and Kojima all go out of business.
