The fortress took a while to model, just because the in-game sprite wasn't meant to exist in a 3D space. I had to go off-model slightly in order to make it work as a 3D model. But I think it looks great. Immediately recognizable and all that. January, 2023, for all three of these renders, btw.

And here's a fortress from Super Mario Bros. I'm rather proud of this. I think I got a procedural brick material. It doesn't look right on the top faces, though, and I never bothered to learn how to fix it. But you can't see them, so it doesn't matter.

Sharing some more Blender renders, because why not? A couple simple ones. Pipes from Super Mario Bros. Found/bought a procedural "rusted metal" material, which is the second one. Decided to also make a non-rusted version. I think they look pretty decent.

Thanks for the info. So I was kind of right in my assumption. Even though I've known for a very long time that Toriyama did the designs for CT, for some reason I didn't expect the PS1 FMVs to look and sound so much like Dragon Ball. And since you're the expert, I figured I'd ask you to make sure.

I know Akira Toriyama did the character designs and art for the game, but the PS1 and PC versions have anime FMVs, and I was wondering if Toriyama and his Dragon Ball team did these FMVs. 'Cause the intro FMV has the DB sound effects and everything.

@realgeekdom101.bsky.social Yo D, was just checking the PC version of Chrono Trigger to make sure it runs okay, since I plan on streaming that once I'm done with the Legacy of Kain series, and I have a question.

Finally beat #GTA5. Only took 13 years and three console generations.

I'm not that great with Blender. The Slime is probably the only soft body model I've finished. I've attempted a few others, but have mostly given up. And I'm not that good at hard body modeling, either. There's been a few I think look good, but nothing too complex. I may share those another time.

Last week I shared some pixel art I did. I've done a bit more than just that, but I also wanted to share some Blender stuff I've done. There's far less Blender renders than pixel art, tho. This is the one I'm most proud of. A Slime from Dragon Quest. Made it almost four years ago, now.

That said, the remake looks amazing. Love the visual upgrade. And the QoL improvements look good, too. Menuing to change items was always a bit annoying, but that's just how things were back then. Having a streamlined inventory, and full camera control, will be really nice.

The first time I played Ocarina of Time was on the Wii Virtual Console. It was pretty dang good. Really enjoyed it. Never played it on an actual N64. I can now, though. I have an N64 and an Everdrive. Might play it for YouTube sometime.

I wonder which will be the first to be put back on the shelf, so to speak. Or if I'll be able to manage juggling them all. Only time will tell.

I also resumed playing Hades, and finally got past the first boss. Started playing Castlevania SotN for YouTube. Will be starting Blood Omen on Twitch this Wednesday. Somewhere in there I also resumed playing GTA5.

I've started playing a lot of games recently. It's been a very long time since I've played so many games all at once. I mean, not simultaneously, of course. But I started playing Super Metroid and Metroid Prime for the first time ever. Started MGS3 and MGS4 for the first time in years.

Reposted because I didn't realize Bluesky would convert the PNGs to JPG and thus lose the alpha channel. I already had versions with the gray background ready for such occasions, though.

For a couple years now, I've been dabbling in pixel art. Mostly sprite edits, demakes, traces, that kinda thing. Haven't gotten to the point of creating my own original works from scratch. But I thought I'd share some here. Starting with the Lamb from @cultofthelamb.bsky.social, in 16x16 and 32x32.

Again, I need to try to use this more. Anyway, didn't quite finish Wild Arms this week. Ka Dingel and Malduke took a lot longer than I expected. Not finished with Malduke yet, even. And I still want to do The Abyss, the Ancient Arena, and a few other optional things. Next week, though, definitely.

Nintendo usually doesn't announce games more than six months before the release, and rarely more than a year before. So while I don't think the game was necessarily finished, it's almost certainly far enough in development that they know it'll be finished before the year ends.

But a friend of mine was like, the story was partly about how dependent MI6 had become on the Theia AI, having been convinced it's perfect. And given how many people nowadays can't seem to think for themselves anymore without asking ChatGPT or Grok or whatever, it seems a bit too on-the-nose.

000

Lord Dude @lorddude.bsky.social · 09/08/2026

I won't spoil much, but I feel like the MI6 folk had the perfect opportunity to use Bond's impulsiveness, authority issues, and persistence in finding the truth to their advantage. But instead they genuinely expected him to follow orders and give up the chase, which is kind of dumb on their part.

Right, gotta use this thing. I finished 007 First Light yesterday (Friday, the 7th). Great game, but the gun fights were fairly iffy. Had to bump down the difficulty due to those. Felt a bit too unfair on normal. And I think the last couple missions missed an opportunity as far as the story goes.

First episode of the NES version of the TMNT Arcade Game. It's considerably longer than the arcade original, so it had to be split into two videos. #tmnt #teenagemutantninjaturtles youtu.be/uBDSUdgmnnw
