I miss these type of films from this era. Hell, I miss America from this era. I miss seeing these group of character actors in films regularly. Great cast, great script. Entertaining to watch. Should have gotten more of Affleck as Ryan. #lastfourwatched #sumofallfears #letterboxdfriday #movie Hot DAMN this film is balls to the wall FANTASTIC! SO entertaining! Charm and humor plus stupendous action stunts. It’s an absolute CRIME this film didn’t do gangbusters at the box office.Without a doubt we should have easily gotten a trilogy out of this series.Perfection all around! #lastfourwatched Watched Event Horizon in a theater for the first time since release. Life moves pretty fast, if you don’t stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it. 29 years in the blink of an eye. #eventhorizon #letterboxd #lastfourwatched #movie Fun and entertaining. Keenan is charming. Jada is great (before she became the villain). Salli is stunning. Great lines, so many great lines 😊 Good action sequences. Recommend. #filmsky #letterboxd #alowdowndirtyshame #movie I ADORE Skin Deep. John Ritter’s best performance. Love Black Edward’s script and direction. Great theme song too. A comfort watch. A time capsule of 80’s filmmaking. Great double feature with Blind Date. Highly recommend. #filmsky #letterboxd #skindeep #movie Quite possibly the single largest love letter to the San Fernando Valley in film. Enjoyable first 2/3, last 1/3 feels rushed with an especially false feeling line of dialogue. Poorly references the far superior vampire film, The Lost Boys. #filmsky #sfv #dayshift #letterboxd #movie A little piece of magic. The charm and charisma of both Dolly and Burt together in a musical comedy. What more could you possibly ask for? If ever you want to improve your mood and put a little pep in your step, take a trip to the whore house. Best in Texas 😊 #filmsky #dolly #movie #letterboxd The perfect example of a highly enjoyable standalone film as well as the start to an Epic franchise adventure. Still holds up all these years later. Well cast and directed with the exact right mixture of seriousness and humor. High recommendation. #filmsky #letterboxd #ironman Great 80’s small town America vibe. Travel back to a simpler time, kids played outside, the Cold War chilled you to the bone and technology was minimal. Charming cast you cheer for. Love the sibling dynamic. Busy is perfection! Second favorite Werewolf movie. High recommend. #filmsky #Letterboxd Great cast of characters. Wonderful who done it script. Love the constant rain and overall look and mood of the film. #filmsky #letterboxd #identity First Chan film I watched in theaters. Fooled by the trailer and didn’t realize the film was dubbed until the movie started. Excellent finale action piece. Great fight scenes throughout. Watching again, I realized Cruise really wants to be the Jackie of America. Recommend. #filmsky #letterboxdfriday No lessons to be learned in the 3rd film. Still I found myself enjoying Revenge more than 2. It really just comes down to enjoying seeing the gang back together again. Honestly I hope they stayed friends in life.I could have watched another 3 films with this group of characters. #filmsky #letterboxd Unable to match the high bar of quality set by the original. I do appreciate its defense of the Seminole people as well as its skewering of over stepping religion, shady politicians and the disgusting KKK. Happy to spend more time with the original cast of characters. #filmsky #letterboxd #porkys Excellent film with fantastic life lessons. As a youth watching films, I learned great lessons about right and wrong that I carry with me. I learned it was wrong to be a racist and antisemitic. I think of my father as well who enjoyed Porky’s. I will forever cherish Porky’s. #filmsky #letterboxd Excellent cast of characters in a fun movie to brighten up your day. Thank you Joel Schumacher! High recommend. #filmsky #letterboxd #dccab My least favorite Hughes film set in High School. McCarthy is bland and unappealing. I understand why she wasn’t into Duckie but he was the better choice. Thank goodness for Some Kind of Wonderful. #filmsky #letterboxd #prettyinpink Over the years Death Warrant has become one of my favorite Van Damme films. Well told, helps that Goyer is the writer. Well directed and I enjoy the cast of characters. The final fight has one of Van Damme’s best slow motion kicks. Highly recommend. #filmsky #letterboxd #deathwarrant Predator is a poor hunter. Easily seen in camouflage multiple times. Glover is unimpressive in defeating him. Glover barges in with no skills or expertise. Predator from the original would have finished him off in the first 5 minutes. Unable to recommend. #filmsky #letterboxd #predator2 Mesmerizing! Arguably Tobe Hoopers best film. Practical effects comparable to The Thing and American Werewolf in London. Magnificent score. You are as drawn to Mathilda May as our main character. Excellent performances all around. My highest recommendation. #filmsky #letterboxd #lifeforce Excellent gem from the 80’s. Love the family dynamic in this film. Charismatic personalities. They really don’t make them like this anymore. Really miss the video store movies of the 80’s. Highly recommend. #filmsky #letterboxd #angel I’ve now experienced this film from both sides. When I was a child, I imagined Lincoln Hawk (Sylvester Stallone) as my father. Now I AM Sylvester Stallone (Lincoln Hawk). Time to win my second Championship title! 😎 #filmsky #letterboxd #overthetop #sylvesterstallone Better than you would initially believe. Well scripted, directed and acted. Editing is a little rough at moments. Special effects hold up surprisingly well for a film from this era (compared to something like Species). Recommend. #filmsky #letterboxd #thearrival Badham really is a great director. His name isn’t mentioned as often as others from the 80’s-90’s but he was putting out highly entertaining films for over a decade. Blue Thunder feels like a reality that could occur in our streets any day now. Big recommendation. #filmsky #letterboxd #bluethunder The perfect example of the stars aligning to bring together the exact right talent at the exact right time to produce magic. #filmsky #letterboxd #trueromance Relevant to events in our current society. Possibly more now than when it was released. Excellent performances by stellar actors. Well directed and edited. Fantastic structure to the script. Tight, concise and well told. High recommend. #filmsky #letterboxd #fallingdown Possibly my second favorite live action Spider-Man film after No Way Home. Will have to watch Raimi’s Spider Man 2 again to know for sure. Good character work between Peter and MJ. Pulls on the right emotional strings. Punisher is great. #filmsky #letterboxd #spidermanbrandnewday Under delivers in respect to getting back at, “The Man”. Ends with a whimper and a sputter. Lacks quality closer for any character in the film. Thankfully we came a long way in improving our revenge for the little guy in future decades. #filmsky #letterboxd #whitelinefever ##moviesky Not quite as good as my teenage mind remembered. Reminds me of a carefree childhood. Hollywood definitely doesn’t make them like this anymore. Kind of miss this version of Hollywood. #filmsky #letterboxd #sideout #moviesky
