I weirdly agree with Half-Life/Medal of Honor being sorta the same. I think they're a fairly similar style of FPS, but I think it depends on age and what hardware you had. I remember being excited playing MoH/Underground/Frontline, but hadn't heard of Half-Life at the time cause our PC was old.

One of these days I wanna smoke whatever AI researchers are smoking. They're trying to sell to the world that they've figured out some semblance of AGI while not even being able to scratch the surface of the complexity needed to replicate a human brain and body. It'll probably kill us all anyways.

I think the approach would be to follow side stories that seem interesting enough you should probably pursue, but a lot felt like loosely placed fluff to me compared to the main story. I played on normal and occasionally got my ass handed to me, but that was the exception not the rule.

I feel like the biggest things I'm personally missing is the sorta early to mid 2000s campaign shooters (Halo CE, F.E.A.R., Black, PS2 era MoH, R6 3, Brothers in Arms). A decent amount of it is having more of a focus on story, but also the weird era of squad command. Also co-op, I'd like more co-op.

Guess I'll kick things off here with a side project I've been working on. Doing a racing game as my first gamedev project was definitely a mistake, but after slamming my head against the wall that is vehicle physics I can at least drive around and start testing spherical gravity. #godot #godotengine
