We’ve made a few visual upgrades. Starting with destruction particles. We received feedback that they felt cluttered. So we adjusted the colors and layers to make them less distracting. We also switched to VFX for better performance and a lot more particles. #gamedev #indiegame #promosky

Two years ago, I prototyped procedural ice shattering. We turned it into a game. We wanted enemies to break and react. A bomb gets harder to roll as it breaks. A drone can be shot down. Then came levels around destruction and more unique enemies. Thank you for 10K wishlists! #gamedev #indiegame

Yeah, significantly lower than every other community. A lot of that audience experiences games through videos rather than actually playing them, which called “cloud players” in China. I asked a few dev friends and they saw similar conversion rates.

I think it was a bit of everything. Famitsu and AUTOMATON covered our reveal trailer, a few posts went viral on major forums in different languages, and 2 Bilibili videos passed 600K views. Festivals helped too, and Pirate Software streamed it. So it was really a lot of things adding up.
