Came up with a quick guide on crafting a good hypnokink scene in hopes of giving some insight on my own thought process and offering advice

Today we'll be examining some basic templates for writing a competent hypnokink scene.

There are only two hard rules. The first is that both templates require two subjects and one hypnotist. This for the sake of reactivity. What's important is that the subjects have some sort of relationship with each other and clashing personalities.

Besides how they act before, their reactions to going under are also different. The other rule is that in every duo, there should be the subject who takes some effort to hypnotize, and the subject who breaks almost instantly.

It's all about contrast.

We'll call our subject who resists being hypnotized (A), and the subject who goes under immediately to hypnosis is (B).

While using either of these templates, ask yourself:
- Who are the subjects? What's their relationship to each other?
- How do the subjects clash in terms of identity?
- Which of your characters is (A) and which one is (B)?
- Who is the hypnotist? What does the hypnotist want to do to the subjects and why?
- What method or methods does the hypnotist use?
- How do the characters behave during the process of being hypnotized? How do the characters behave after? Describe their facial expressions and body language.

In both templates the hypnotist takes their subjects by surprise. During The Encounter, surprise comes from the hypnotist's arrival and intrusion on a private space. During The Presentation, the surprise comes from the hypnotist's underhanded tactics.

1. The Encounter
---
In The Encounter, (B) is distracted, leaving (A) vulnerable to the hypnotist's playful approach. Only after (A) is fully subdued does (B) notice what's happened. Their attempt to save (A) earns the hypnotist's ire, and the hypnotist immediately shifts focus to (B).

Whether it's the hypnotist no longer playing games deciding to put more thoroughness into their methods, or (B) being an easy subject, or both, (B) goes under even faster and deeper than their companion.

Originally The Encounter takes place at night in the middle of vast unpopulated wilderness, but it can happen anywhere so long as the setting is private. Intimate isolation assures no one else will interfere with the proceedings--no one interested in saving the subjects, anyway. What's important is that the two subjects are alone together and don't expect company.

In The Encounter, the subject who's imminently hypnotizable is the second to go under. How easily they're dispatched after their more resistant companion acts as a sort of punchline.

When using this template, ask yourself:
- How does the hypnotist approach (A)?
- How and why is (B) distracted?
- After (B) is hypnotized, does (A) break out of their trance or not? If they are freed from the hypnosis, is it due to (B)'s efforts?

2. The Presentation
---
In The Presentation, an acting hypnotist uses mesmerism to hypnotize (B) into agreeably "volunteering" themselves as a subject. (A) doesn't realize what's going on until they're roped into following after their already-compliant companion.

(A) watches as the hypnotist toys with (B), deepening and demonstrating the depth of their control. This makes (A) connect the dots, too late, and the hypnotist immediately shifts focus to (A). Unlike (B), (A) does try to resist, but to no avail.

Originally The Presentation takes place during a hypnotist's public stage performance, but it can happen anywhere. What's important is that the hypnotist displays their hypnotic abilities, whether that means a wide audience or only (A).

In The Presentation, the subject who's imminently hypnotizable is the first to go under. This provides an incisive demonstration of their abilities before turning on the more resistant subject.

When using this template, ask yourself:
- Is there anyone else around besides (A) and (B) to watch? If so, how do they react?
- How does the hypnotist sneakily ensnare (B) without (A)'s knowledge?
- How does (A) react when they realize what's happened?
- Does the hypnotized (B) assist the hypnotist in capturing (A)?

Stop Using Anti-Hypnosis Language

Instead of: Hypnosis doesn't work on me Say: I've been struggling to go under.

Instead of: I've never been hypnotized Say: It's never felt like I've expected it to.

Instead of: I'm not a very good subject Say: I'm still getting better as a subject.

Instead of: I don't respond to triggers Say: Triggers haven't felt like compulsions yet.
