loim @loim.dev · 07/07/2026Wow this is a very fascinating and stubborn issue... i wish i could help more, but honestly i am personally out of ideas, or at least ones i easily can communicate over bluesky lol. i am so so sorry... my last suggestion would be seeing if the mint discord can help: discord.com/invite/mintdiscord.comJoin the Linux Mint Community🍵 Discord Server! This is the official Discord of the Linux Mint project! loim @loim.dev · 07/07/2026(sorry this is just a process of "fire a command and see what happens," that's often how troubleshooting things like this goes. made extra interesting by communicating this via Bsky Dot App with a character limit) 110
loim @loim.dev · 07/07/2026oooh alright that looks Fun (and rip about the snapshots, i guess it isn't configured out of the box) got a few other ideas that might help: sudo apt --fix-broken install and/or: sudo apt install --reinstall python3 let's see what those do 100
loim @loim.dev · 07/07/2026if i'm right, linux mint actually comes with a program called timeshift! so if reinstalling doesn't work, you might be able to undo to before you started having issues: sudo timeshift --list to see snapshots, and: sudo timeshift --restore to select which snapshot to restore to. 010
loim @loim.dev · 07/07/2026(i think these are the packages, i haven't used mint in a while) reboot and hopefully (fingers super duper crossed) it works again if you have any issues Let Me Know. i love to troubleshoot and help people!! 110
loim @loim.dev · 07/07/2026hello i know Too Much about linux and i have saved myself from this kind of issue before you can access a terminal directly with ctrl + alt + f3 (any f key above 1 or 2 should work). log in, and then reinstall your DE and core packages: sudo apt install --reinstall mint-meta-cinnamon cinnamon 220
