What can I say? My father was a logger.

More like generations. His father was at least as bad, and his grandfather very likely as well - though he's more famous for his whorehouses.

That's the one I was using when I found out that Vivaldi is far too cheerful for 6:00 AM. And I say that as a morning person.

When I was in college, my first part-time job was typing up catalog cards for the library.

It is a good book. I enjoyed it thoroughly. And, yes, the cover sold it for me as well.

I like both of those. But together?...

I'd have added frozen peas and carrots, but it does indeed look very tasty.

Because food is good.

Looks good to me, and will probably taste better.

Throw in some garlic to your own taste and other savory spices (cinnamon works, too) as the spirit moves you. Or curry powder, whatever works. Throw in frozen mixed veggies. Wonton skins to wrap. Deep fry till golden or bake 350F for 20 minutes.

I used to do a fake-up that made the people I fed them to very happy. Boil potatoes till just soft and mash them to slightly lumpy - no butter or milk needed for this. Fry chopped onion till soft in about half a cup of oil.

Also, I do hope you can drink beer. Samosas are the finest thing ever invented to go with.

Depends. I don't much care for ice cream, though I certainly don't mind if other people do.

I'm an unrepentant omnivore and several of my favorite dishes qualify as vegan.

What is bothering them in their own life so much that they feel compelled to criticize you being hungry?

I absolutely loved The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas. And 9 - 5 was pretty good, too.

I have roughly 2400 hardcopy books. If I ever move from where I am, I will get a 2 bedroom place and one will be my library.

It's called either 'throw together' cooking or 'by guess and by god'. My grandfather used to say he threw things into the pan by guess and by god the results tasted great. My grandmother was a lousy cook.

I knew Maggie Kuhn for a few years when I worked at the Gerontology Center at USC. She was amazing. And a real hoot.

If you're talking Cadbury, I've already had mine for the year. I can only take one - after that, they strike me as waaaay too sweet. My grandkids don't mind - I haven't been able to find singles in several years, and they get the remaining three (though they have to give one to their mother).

He was a nurse all right, but he worked for the VA, not ICE.

I don't like cauliflower. I don't care if other people do, as long as they admit that, at age 72, I have every right to not eat the stuff if I don't want to.

I'm pretty sure I went there a couple of times when I lived in Los Angeles. I recall hamburgers the size of dinner plates.

It's not difficult. Eggs, sugar, melted butter, milk, mix together; pour over torn-up croissants in a pan and bake at 350F for roughly half an hour. Of course, finding a recipe isn't difficult either, and since you say you've never made bread pudding before, .... I'm very fond of bread pudding.

Did you use beef? Then it's officially cottage pie - shepherd's pie uses mutton or lamb. Not that it greatly matters, since I'll eat either one and that what you've made has me drooling.

No, I wouldn't. One actual grandmother died before I was even conceived, and the other one and my step-grandmother were neither of them anybody I would voluntarily spend time with.
