Alrighty. I'll commit to helping one developer implement @loggedin.fyi this weekend. Who wants in? It's only going to take 1 good egg to break the chicken and egg cycle here; and we ain't no chickens!

Quick update to disable invocation_logs, and reduce head_sampling_rate to 1% for debugging. Thanks to @verdettoqr.com for the feedback!

Code has been uploaded to @tangled.org This includes the Cloudflare Worker, and the 2 demo apps: Lightbox and Cratewalk. tangled.org/loggedin.fyi...

I’ll take a look today, I think it very well might!

That's fair, and definitely something that can be done. I'll push this to @tangled.org over the next couple of days. Currently the config is *on*, so I can debug any edge cases. I'd need to consider the impacts if it was turned *off* from a support perspective. I'm conscious of the privacy aspects.

One last thing. @logged.fyi will not be needed once FedCM support is shipped widely across all browsers. Naively, I suspect that might take some time to be shipped. For now, @loggedin.fyi offers a nice stepping stone across the Atmosphere, until the bigger bridge is built.

Will also be adding a guide for developers to show how to add loggedin.fyi to an AT Proto login, including prompting the user to save their account for later across the Atmosphere.

Got some real solid feedback from a few folks. Will be adding privacy pages, looking to open source the Cloudflare Worker that backs loggedin.fyi, and figuring out how to prove the zero data retention. Will also link to the source code of the two demos - they’re open source already, on @val.town

AT Proto devs. What questions do you have about @loggedin.fyi?!

Working to see if support can be added for mobile apps. Due to the (good and strong!) privacy protections on mobile, this might need some out of the box thinking. Ideas if you have them, are welcome!

To show how customizable rendering the hint/prompt list is, here's what an Atmosphere user would see when they arrive to Crate Walk, having logged in to Lightbox. In this case, the user has already logged in to lightbox-logged.val.run and has arrived at cratewalk-loggedin.val.run So pretty.
The login page for the Crate Walk Atmosphere demo app. The typical typeahead form is present with a yellow Login with Atmosphere button.

Beneath this form is the user experience leveraging loggedin.fyi. It's a list, with a single account that shows the avatar, handle, and name of the user (the account is Alex McRoberts, and the handle is alex.mcroberts.me). The list also shows where the account was logged in – in this case the Light Box demo URL is shown.

Here's an example of what an Atmosphere user would see when they arrive to app, and they aren't signed in. The user has already logged in to cratewalk-loggedin.val.run and has arrived at lightbox-logged.val.run. Lightbox shows the user has an Atmosphere account they can click, to login with.

All accounts still login following the same OAuth flow as before – nothing changes, no passwords involved. The Atmosphere app fetches accounts from loggedin.fyi as a hint/guide to the user. If a user selects one of the accounts, the same OAuth flow continues just like it always has.

Each app can render these accounts, however they'd prefer. Here's the demo. Login to one of these, then login to the other. They are both read-only Atmosphere apps that show posts from your feeds, in 2 different ways. * lightbox-loggedin.val.run * cratewalk-loggedin.val.run

Any Atmosphere app that has a login screen, can fetch a list of these accounts from loggedin.fyi as prompts These are accounts that have been active in the same browser, in the last 7 days.

What is loggedin.fyi and how does it work? When you login to an Atmosphere app that integrates with loggedin.fyi, they tell us "hey, <user> logged in" We store this information, as of today, for 7 days. All we store is "<user> logged in to <Atmosphere app> at <date / time>"

We’re just here for the interop. It can’t be as easy as a lil JavaScript and 2 clicks, can it?

What if we could just show Atmosphere users, that they’ve already got an Atmosphere account somewhere else? We can just do things, right?

Demo sites are both ready! Developer docs need another read over. Think this might go live Wednesday!

I had a great call with @kandake.africa this morning before work. Some great feedback, and I think I should be able to get this idea launched some evening this week!

FYI, maybe you're already logged in somewhere else in the Atmosphere?
