I’ve been really enjoying Moonlighter 2 despite the terrible performance on my Switch 2. It’s like Hades but with… capitalism.

BUSINESS IDEA: companies hire me for a week to pose as a new trainee who is super awkward and incompetent at everything. Then when the CEO decides to do an episode of Undercover Boss they don’t seem as suspicious because they are just “another one of those weird new hires that’s bad at everything”.

Once I had 9 espresso shots at work with no other food or drink and shortly after getting home I went totally blind in one eye and the other became very blurry. I started panic praying and could have swore I heard a voice say “drink some water genius”. Turns out water is important or something

How long does music need to be my primary income before I won’t feel massive imposter syndrome for referring to myself as a “professional musician”?

One of the worst interview questions for musicians has to be “who are your influences” because you know they’re just going to list the biggest artists in their genre. Just once I’d love to hear someone answer with something totally out of left field.

Just binged the first season of Butterfly and went to look up when season 2 is out since it ends on a crazy cliffhanger. Nope. Cancelled. Seriously Amazon? I should have known better than to start watching a streaming "original" show in it's first season after the Lockwood & Co betrayal.

I had turned off every light in the house, apart from my bedside lamp. Tucked into bed, after some reading, I decided to set an alarm and go to sleep. But my phone isn't on my night stand. Strange. I wonder where I'd left it. (1/5)

Thinking about starting a second YouTube channel to share writing and storytelling insights I’ve been learning in all of my research. But it’s also really tempting to just post it to the same channel as my music so I don’t have to manage two channels.

I’ve been getting into home lab-ing this year. Mostly trying to setup my own cloud storage so I can cancel some subscriptions. But somehow hard drives and SSDs are just sold out everywhere in Canada. I just know this is somehow the fault of AI data centres.

I've not had internet in my home for nearly 2 weeks now, so I've been a little behind on checking stuff, but I just saw that 139 people pre-saved my album that drops tomorrow. That's wild! I'm so grateful for the people who appreciate what I'm creating

Not to brag, but my Discord community of lofi producers and fans recently started a book club. Turns out the Venn diagram of people who enjoy Zelda covers and people who read fantasy novels is nearly a circle.

Since diving into the writing world I've learned this concept of being either a "pantser" or a "plotter." I definitely thought I wanted to be a pantser until I pantsed my way into a corner and now I'm drawing maps and writing character backstories like a nerd. So that's me. What's new with you guys?

I was asking ChatGPT about various arrow wound locations and the level of incapacitation, lethality etc. After several replies, it began prefacing every answer with “for the purpose of the story you’re writing.” And I just think it’s nice that it assumes the best of me.

I don't know who this is for, but you need to use slant rhymes and assonance in your lyrics. Limiting yourself to perfect rhymes makes you sound like a children's book. Thank you.

Working on my third short story for The Wayward Inn and it's getting to the length it might need to be two parts. So I guess we're starting the countdown for how long I can keep up writing a short story anthology before I except the inevitable and just write a novel.

I used to really stress about having a consistent sound to my music incase someone followed a track back to my profile and hit “shuffle all” I wanted them to have a consistent experience to the track they initially liked. But 8 million+ streams later I realize, nobody cares and I can do what I want.

I’ve been quietly working on a new album of original beats for the last while and I find I’m split between two fairly different sounds with either an indie house vibe or a retro-future ambient beats thing. And I’m not sure if this really works on the same album or if these need to become two albums.

I really love Patreon as a platform but I cannot understand the logic behind their latest logo. The last Patreon logo with a line and a circle that looked like a P was simple and clear. It's a P for Patreon. The newest one is just the African continent but mirrored.

Linux journey update: I love Linux. It’s made me excited about computers again as I try to find ways to optimize and new approaches to problems. So far most of my go-to games work great. Only thing missing is support for audio plugins for me to do my work. So still running MacOS for work.
