Love Island does reflect dating culture: cishet men are still lacking in emotional intelligence. Meanwhile cishet women are constant projects, working on the self-esteem, spirituality, etc. I said this earlier: the gap between cishet men and women is wide, still, in 2025. And it is a bit boring.

I still think the producers were hella exploitative of Huda and she should have left as soon as she was being verbally abusive. If #LoveIslandUSA wants to preach love, they need to model it in how they treat their cast. Clarke, Chelley, and Olandria got so much misogynoir abuse with no recourse.
