What's all this then? Building reliable Bluesky publishing into Local Life Game. Posts are safely queued, while a short connection lease stops concurrent workers publishing duplicates. Tiny backend details like this make sharing from my local-first life simulator feel seamless. #Dev #Blog #indiedev

The image shows a PostgreSQL migration adding reliability controls for Bluesky publishing:
When a post request arrives, it is inserted as pending. If the same request already exists, its record is reset instead of duplicated.
Before publishing, a worker must acquire a connection “lease” using a unique lock token.
That lease lasts 45 seconds, ensuring only one worker can use the Bluesky connection at a time.
The following function releases the lease when publishing finishes.
Together, this makes posting retry-safe and prevents duplicate posts or simultaneous use of the same Bluesky account.
