Fergus is 1 year old today! here he is going from barely filling his cat treat basket to barely fitting it. @phlebotanist.bsky.social and i are so proud of our feral son 💕

@phlebotanist.bsky.social left for their first day of work 💜 Turdgus ran after them, refused to come back up for treats, made me come down & try to herd him up, did a volleyball move to swat the treat bag out of my hand, forced me to carry him the rest of the way, still thought he deserved treats.

today marks five years since my constant companion, Potato, left the world. we were together for 13 years, three cities, a cross-country move, countless homes, & some of the best/worst moments of my life. she was fearless, incredibly chill, and took absolutely no shit from anyone.

when @phlebotanist.bsky.social or i make coffee we always open the back door and Fergus pops out to have a little private morning all by himself on the porch (and spy on us through the window).

my thing is that i vote ndp and then spend their entire term sending them hate mail and protesting their shit choices. most of BC is unceded Indigenous land & the NDP should really be cognisant of that as they rush to lick the boot of extractive industry.

the hygienist at my teeth cleaning tried to engage in small talk like we were old friends, and not only did i forget to ask her a single question about herself in my panic over this unexpected social interaction, later on i accidentally spat water up into her face like a fish.

my fav thing about watching the sunset is always the communal gathering of fellow worshippers as we all turn our little animal heads toward the sky.

i woke up with the classic and incredibly frustrating AuDHD "all available food is repulsive and i cannot." so my sweet spouse made pancakes.
