Lenny @ln37emp.bsky.social · 03/08/2026Recently repaired an expensive coffee machine for a relative. So many cheap parts inside, feels sketchy even if it's all fixed to perfect condition and works how it's supposed to. Didn't feel great giving it back as "fixed" 000
Lenny @ln37emp.bsky.social · 14/06/2026The older "zebra" biometar has thorium infused glass, making it slightly radioactive. 020

Lenny @ln37emp.bsky.social · 11/06/2026Some buttons stopped working on my EOS 6D mkII. Time to investigate. 110
Lenny @ln37emp.bsky.social · 07/06/2026Photo fail for today: I love how the photos turned out. They're great But the lab threw the negatives in the trash. 130
Lenny @ln37emp.bsky.social · 06/06/2026Two years on half brightness, it burnt in anyway. Thanks, Motorola. 120
Lenny @ln37emp.bsky.social · 06/05/2026Brought my old camera to a con to test if it works. Too bad the battery only lasts for eight minutes. Otherwise I would have recorded more than the last day. Now I am waiting for a new battery and a FireWire card to get the video itself. 030
Lenny @ln37emp.bsky.social · 16/04/2026Unemployed fat chud again. But I rebuilt my PC to AMD and added an important upgrade 010
Lenny @ln37emp.bsky.social · 04/02/2026I have a new camera in my collection. It's pretty nice. Clear and neutral. But the lens system is pretty limiting with how closed it is. 4323
Lenny @ln37emp.bsky.social · 09/01/2026Been inactive as I now work as a railway safety tech. Too bad I can't publicly share pics of all the pretty looking vintage electronics. 010

Lenny @ln37emp.bsky.social · 02/10/2025A keyboard engineered before 1989, manufactured around 1992 I think Hall effect switches, tinned copper traces, TESLA ICs... 110
Lenny @ln37emp.bsky.social · 30/09/2025This seems to sum up my mainly used cameras pretty well. I don't think it's going to change much in the next bunch of years. Mirrorless is still extra expensive to switch to. Even though SLT is already kind of mirrorless. 110
Lenny @ln37emp.bsky.social · 19/09/2025I haven't shared anything I took on Harman Phoenix II yet. Everything dark is green for some reason. Feels more expired than my photos taken on expired Fuji Superia 230
Lenny @ln37emp.bsky.social · 19/09/2025I seem to have a few small holes in my shutter curtain. The biggest spot shows up in photos sometimes. But it takes almost a minute with an uncovered lens for it to appear visibly. 000
Lenny @ln37emp.bsky.social · 19/09/2025"film shows serious signs of expiration" Where? Yes it's 14 years expired. But where? 230
Lenny @ln37emp.bsky.social · 02/09/2025I'm not an artist. But I did plenty of silly things on wplace already. Some of it is just an image. Some of it is lightly edited art to fit my needs. 100
Lenny @ln37emp.bsky.social · 16/08/2025I knew this is fishy from the lack of a datasheet. Went through a bunch of info to find out what film this ACTUALLY is. Including buying one of them to inspect closely(sadly had to give profit to that guy). The company owner refuses to give any detail and keeps saying marketing stuff. 100
Lenny @ln37emp.bsky.social · 10/08/2025A wrist strap intended for an 8mm film Zenit camera. The camera is made of a solid block of cast iron. It's hard to even hold for longer. Imagine how painful it is when you drop it with this wrist strap on. 010
Lenny @ln37emp.bsky.social · 08/08/2025Younger Gen Z(under 19) has nostalgia for digicams. I myself grew up with film point&shoot cameras. But this camera is pretty nice. It can't do macro at all though. And you have to use NiMh batteries to get more than 20 minutes of use. Any AA batteries last barely one minute before dying. 100
Lenny @ln37emp.bsky.social · 04/08/2025Lovely. Buying an entire vintage camera with a lens in bad condition just to extract the takeup spool that my model misses is more affordable than buying a takeup spool. 110
Lenny @ln37emp.bsky.social · 01/08/2025I bought old film from Germany. The seller originally replied in english, even if I wrote in German(no it wasn't auto-translation). Today I wrote them a message about the package not being delivered even after SEVEN weeks. They got so angry at Deutsche Post that they went back to writing in German. 110
Lenny @ln37emp.bsky.social · 31/07/2025Tested out my Exakta Varex IIa There are some photos that went well, and some that really show the problem with lacking an original takeup spool. It sometimes slips and doesn't advance the film enough Good ones first 100
Lenny @ln37emp.bsky.social · 28/07/2025Zoned out for a bit. But here are some more photos taken with my Minolta Alpha 7xi Film: expired Fuji Superia 200 221
Lenny @ln37emp.bsky.social · 12/07/2025Got a small suitcase full of cameras from my grandpa. This one is my fav. The lens is a Zeiss Biotar 58mm f/2 Only needs the plastic takeup spool and it can be used again. Already cleaned the viewfinder and most of the lens glass 100
Lenny @ln37emp.bsky.social · 27/06/2025And two photos from a recent event. @rokaj.bsky.social in pic 1 Lime in pic 2 Picture 2 is taken on USA-made Fuji 200, basically Kodak Gold. 061
Lenny @ln37emp.bsky.social · 27/06/2025Wow. I haven't done anything here for a long time. So here are three random photos I took with my Minolta Alpha 7xi Film: mystery 27-frame film from a Fujifilm single-use camera. Shared the film to the dxdatabase film database github. Could be Kodak Color Negative 400 judging by the barcode. 000
Lenny @ln37emp.bsky.social · 06/06/2025I found out that the clicking during film winding is a lie. It's just a single purpose piece of plastic making the sound. The real mechanism relies on the film perforations moving a gear that has a smooth motion and is attached to a cam lobe that resets the shutter at the end of its rotation. 100
Lenny @ln37emp.bsky.social · 06/06/2025Extracted the film from two Fujifilm single use cameras just to put it in my Minolta 7xi There might be a reason why I wasted my time with it, I promise. 120
Lenny @ln37emp.bsky.social · 14/05/2025This phone is seen as ancient today. But it's still a great phone for basic video recording in 4K and sending stuff to people. Nothing much more though. Most apps are unsupported since the start of May. Same with system updates. 110

Lenny @ln37emp.bsky.social · 18/03/2025The soviets definitely never expected this cursed thing to happen Still working on implementing focus on my homemade adapter. Surprisingly way more detail than the cheap Sigma lens, even if it has flares all the time. 100
Lenny @ln37emp.bsky.social · 17/03/2025Spent money on this lens a few days ago. Never sharp, extreme blooming, aberration, loss of saturation, dark, washed out... Judging by the three only reviews I even managed to find, it's like that since new. And it broke down after my recent photoshoot. 100
Lenny @ln37emp.bsky.social · 04/03/2025I definitely don't regret getting a used Sony Alpha A58. It's a lovely beginner camera and I already took around 170 photos with it. But one thing that makes it hard to use outside is the viewfinder being foggy from the inside. That adds a blur and also lets the sun bleed into the lens. 210
Lenny @ln37emp.bsky.social · 24/02/2025Getting bored from employers posting fake job positions. So I'm trying how strong my glasses really are to people who have no vision issues by using a camera with fixed focus. 110
