Pretty much sums up the current administration.

Beautiful Sunbittern summing itself today at the Jacksonville Zoo. While birds do this to warm themselves, they also do this when too hot (and it was very hot today) to regulate their temperature.

Pretty bad when the actual dictionary is trolling you. 😂😂

Happy World Bongo Day! These magnificent animals are critically endangered with only about 100 left in the wild.

A little giraffe soccer to start your weekend.

And Milli Vanilli described the guy singing under their name as a “tribute band” which is pretty hilarious.

Love this. Every year the wood storks come to the same tree at the zoo where I volunteer, make babies, and then around August fly away until next year.

My golden sable Lenny. 7 years ago he was found running loose in Georgia. I keep asking him to tell me how he ended up a stray but he just lets me know he is perfectly happy with me and his doggy friend Leia. Wish I could say he does not bark at anything.

Please remember what this day is about. Have a safe Memorial Day while remembering those who sacrificed everything.

On Endangered Species Day let’s celebrate one of my favorites - The Mountain Bongo. There are only about 109 left in the wild although they are doing well in zoos. This cutie was born at the Jacksonville Zoo last year.

Happy World Penguin Day from 2 little blue Penguin fledglings I saw in New Zealand earlier this year.

Here are 2 of the three juvenile manatees at our zoo. Once they are over 600 pounds and in good health they will be released. Fun fact. Despite the fact manatees are called chubby mermaids they actually only have 3 % body fat. Think Michael Jordan at his prime.

Happy Earth Day. Trying to decide what picture to use and decided on this photo of a baby elephant I saw in South Africa many years ago. The other elephants with them are referred to as aunties.

I was just going to say if they are related to elephants they are related to manatees. Surprisingly here is their other close relative. Manatees and sloths are the only mammals who do not have 7 cervical vertebrae.

Somehow I missed this movie when it came out. So good.
