I know it’s pointless now - but it looks like all my work at VideoGamer early last year has been wiped. A good thing in fairness.

Feel like I’m banging my head against the endgame in Path of Exile 2 (skill issue, of course) but am now trying a Huntress and it’s SO fun. Absolutely ripping through campaign now and already theorycrafting on the train to work.

Cheeky bit of positivity on this Thursday afternoon - after nearly 3 months at PREMIER as a freelance Senior Account Executive, I'm moving in-house. Very pleased to *properly* join the team, and excited to continue my PR journey!

I’m not saying I’m getting old but every social media algorithm is showing me product ads to help with joint pain and muscle injuries and I’m not ok with it.

I love Apple products and services, but there's no denying there have been some missteps. As part of the company's 50th anniversary, I took a look at some of them for TechRadar. How many do you remember? www.techradar.com/tech/youve-t...

In possibly my last gaming commission, I wrote about Marathon and what it does well, what needs work ahead of launch, and why I think it’ll find a place alongside others in the genre. www.techradar.com/gaming/marat...

Can Marathon really topple Arc Raiders? Maybe it doesn’t need to

We go hands-on with Marathon to find out whether it has what it takes to survive in the crowded live-service space.

Despite being a big ol' fraidy cat, I'm getting caught up in the Resi hype. There is no way I'd make it through the opening hour, and yet...

Lloyd Coombes @lloydcoombes.bsky.social · 26/02/2026

I'll still be freelancing in tech and fitness content (and finishing off some final commissions), because I simply love to write, but I'm also so, so excited to move onto the next step of my journey.

Lloyd Coombes @lloydcoombes.bsky.social · 26/02/2026

From Gamescom, to my first bylines on sites like IGN and Eurogamer, to esports tournaments and world-exclusives, to literally losing my hair over stats in the darker times, it's never been boring - and I'm so grateful to everyone I've met along the way.

Lloyd Coombes @lloydcoombes.bsky.social · 26/02/2026

I've been to Canada, Romania, Germany, the USA, and even Singapore - all places I simply wouldn't have had the chance to go without the support of an industry that took me in when I felt I offered so little, and showed me I could do so much.

120

Lloyd Coombes @lloydcoombes.bsky.social · 26/02/2026

I moved into the industry at 29, had to learn fast, and think I made a pretty good go of it - all while raising a family.

120

Lloyd Coombes @lloydcoombes.bsky.social · 26/02/2026

I've worked as a news writer, guides writer, editor, and all the way up to EIC, and I'm so grateful for the opportunities I've had to do a job that my younger self would have given anything for.

120

Lloyd Coombes @lloydcoombes.bsky.social · 26/02/2026

Feeling quite reflective today. I'm so excited to be able to announce my next move soon, but I'm leaving games media after seven years.

Finally splashed out on some stash tabs for Path of Exile 2 and they've changed my life. Genuinely spending so much less time messing around with my currencies now, and I have a Unique collection to flick through! What a world.

Can’t remember the last time I was this nervous for a NLD. That Arsenal squad, on paper, should win, but new manager bounce and this being a derby means it’s hard to call. COYG.
