Intensely moving! My uncle was killed there before I was born. He left a young wife, a very young son, his mother and my father.

Unfortunately we didn’t! He had been difficult once he had got his money. I wonder if your house insurer could apply pressure if you made a claim with them.

My mother was born and brought up in Salford in very poor conditions. She was bright and attended Adelphi House, a Catholic grammar school. I believe the building still exists and is possibly part of the university now.

Sorry that this has been a major nightmare. We were frustrated/irritated when ours was installed but that was partly because of the ‘exigences’ of the syndic! We have learnt that the system needs to be serviced annually but that was not obvious in the installation contract.

It works well if each partner knows his/her place. We have two kitchens and in one I rule and in the other he does. We cook some exceedingly good meals together.

57 years today since we met. Married for 55. Keeping fingers crossed that there will be many more. Still can’t believe he proposed. I thought he was joking but I said ‘yes’ in case he wasn’t. Best decision I ever made.

My OH has accompanied me on all my cancer appointments. He has never been reused and on one occasion he asked if it was OK to stay the medic said that it was his ‘right’ to be with me. We are in the Vaucluse.

Pure joy, especially at breakfast. Plus it brings back so many memories. Unfortunately OH loathes it because when very young his mother gave him a spoonful directly into his mouth. The family had just immigrated from Italy and she believed it would be good for him!
