I've written some useless* Haskell. *until atproto gets around to supporting Attestation-Based Client Authentication

I did, and I wouldn't have created an account if Bluesky were just another social media app.

That's unfortunate. "Atmosphere" is such a great name.

Didn't we settle on "atmosphere account", or "atproto account" for the more technically inclined?

Congrats! I presume you're using some kind of TMB or BFF pattern to implement the confidential client functionality?

Any update on the way forward? From what I understand, adopting the ABCA draft would rule out reusing the existing private_key_jwt authentication method and require implementing the new attest_jwt_client_auth_dpop method instead.

Al-Khwarizmi deserves better. We shouldn’t leave non-technical people with the impression that algorithms are inherently evil.

New /account method does not show Connected Apps between the auth & refresh token expirations · Issue #3843 · bluesky-social/atproto
Describe the bug There is an issue in the new bsky.social/account Connected Apps disappear once the authorization_token expires, but not the refresh token. Noticed this with github.com/blebbit/auth...

The PDS web interface seems to only list sessions with a valid access token. Sessions that have an expired access token but a valid refresh token don't show up. It should key off refresh token validity, so any session that can still act on the account stays revocable.

Ah, got it. These are just PDSes, right? I think the blog post is mainly trying to clear up a misconception a lot of fediverse users have about how atproto works. Let’s agree to disagree here. 🤗

What do you mean by “ATProto hosting N”? As for migrating Mastodon accounts, I think Mastodon’s implementation is pretty lacking compared to how it works in the atmosphere. It's more like forwarding from your old account to your new one, which actually reinforces the point the blog post is making.

I didn't read it as intentionally insulting at all. Maybe the term ‘mastodon-brained’ is a little spicy to grab attention, but I can read past that if the rest of the article is solid. What technical nuance was lacking?

Dan has written a bunch of helpful blog posts explaining atproto and how it compares to the fediverse, and he always takes the time to answer people's questions about them. But yeah, sure, call him a dick. 🙄

PDSes can request to be consumed by a service with `com.atproto.sync.requestCrawl`. One can also list all hosts a service consumes with `com.atproto.sync.listHosts`.
