I know I should keep querying my project with Practical Magic vibes, especially with the sequel about to hit theaters, but do other authors ever feel like they've sent their full to the right agent and it just doesn't make sense anymore? Am I just hopelessly delusional? #amquerying

Opposite for me, I put my husband's number down for everything so my phone stays blissfully silent

I have time to query for the next few hours, but my next two days are so busy I can't get started. Help me before I procrasticlean my whole house.

Tim Curry has always been one of my very favorite actors, and only a day away from Dolly? RIP to two greats 🩷

I have a busy day ahead, but I'm eyeing my laptop like, yes, I can also draft another 2k words, why shouldn't I? Delusion is strong today.

What if we...

a button design: button is yellow and black for aposematic purposes, and reads 'if you use a.i. don't talk to me, i will bite your face clean off your skull.' in the middle is a bitey-looking beetle with a little skull making a sad face above its mandibles.

I just finished some amazing edits on my spooky MG and cozy, witchy, bakery story so watch out agents, I'll be back in the trenches! Then I can focus on drafting my twisty Frankenstein retelling! I hope it'll be ready in time for Halloweeeeeen

#QuestPit #A #H #W FRANKENSTEIN X WHITE LOTUS Influencer wannabe scores the honeymoon of a lifetime, with one wrinkle-her hub's boomer boss and pearl clutching wife. Missing guests. Missing groom. Murder. How far would someone go to recapture their youth, or someone else's?

I have one of those, too, actually! (though the YA dystopian is more of a SFF crossover) I can send my cozy magic realism query instead :)

Nothing like heading into the last chapter of a WIP first draft. Things are all coming together so perfectly! I can't wait until I can share! WHITE LOTUS X FRANKENSTEIN

This is the kind of thing I do to distract myself from the excitement of amazing agents who currently have my full manuscripts. How do you distract yourself? #art

My chronic illness has been flaring up and I simply do not have the spoons for a pitch event. I will not be pitching tomorrow, though I'm pretty excited with the agents who currently have my projects, and I will do my best to support my wonderful author friends! #QuestPit

I received another R&R recently, and I finally figured out how to put it into action! I'm so excited to see if they'll like it when I'm done!!

10 k into my new WIP! And it's not terrible!

I got a rash from berry picking yesterday, but I'm honestly just excited to use plantain from my yard to clear up the itch in true bog witch fashion

You're already on blackberries? We're still collecting black caps!

Thank you!!! This would be the first time I'm offering, so I think I might reach out!

000

L. K. Carter @lkcarterauthor.bsky.social · 05/07/2025

Revisions have been completed and sent to the requesting agent, but I'm curious if I should reach out to the other agents with my full... Would they want the updated pages, or is reaching out just annoying?

L. K. Carter @lkcarterauthor.bsky.social · 24/06/2025

I was a foolish fool and had way more to do than originally planned... I'm over halfway through revisions, though!!

I ran out of both cream and creamer, so I added ✨️ice cream✨️ to my coffee instead. Work with what you've got, right? 🤣

I'm down to one last edit for my cozy story! Then I'll write some more of my WIP (Frankenstein x White Lotus if it were directed by Jordan Peele) and give it another full read before sending it back!! Think a two week turn around seems suspiciously fast for an R&R?

L. K. Carter @lkcarterauthor.bsky.social · 16/06/2025

Made my husband bread pudding for breakfast, pizza from scratch for dinner, and gave him a while lot of writing time for father's day. I think I nailed it! Yes, that's pickle pizza 🤣

I have a fun spooky MG you might like!

Are there better vibes than stock simmering on the stove, rain pattering against summer leaves through an open window, and a bit of time to start chapter one of a new project?

000

L. K. Carter @lkcarterauthor.bsky.social · 09/06/2025

I highly recommend trying pickle brined chicken. This was such a delicious dinner my husband made!

Pickle brined chicken (with extra dill) homemade ranch, shredded carrots all on top of a fresh spring mix salad!

It's so fun to see how many other authors use this method!

110

L. K. Carter @lkcarterauthor.bsky.social · 08/06/2025

Yesssss exactly! This is where my b plots get woven in, too!

010

L. K. Carter @lkcarterauthor.bsky.social · 08/06/2025

That's almost exactly my plan for this one! I love finding other authors who use this system, it's so organized and efficient

L. K. Carter @lkcarterauthor.bsky.social · 08/06/2025

Fair enough. I figured it was both anyway hahaha

010

L. K. Carter @lkcarterauthor.bsky.social · 08/06/2025

Throwing my WIP outline into an excel because it makes the most sense in my brain. Does anyone else do it this way, or am I just a weirdo? Maybe it's both?
