Happy thing of the day: the first Celebrity garden tomato! It’s bursting with flavor with just a touch of salt and pepper. I put half in this veg sandwich and the other half I ate as slices. I’m so thankful for the garden this spring.

Happiness is my flourishing vegetable garden. Most experienced Austin gardeners would tell you not to grow brassicas right now but I said F it and put starts into the ground at the end of Feb and it looks like I’ll actually get a crop out of it!

I stumbled across an entire field of about 100 ostriches in TX hill country this week. I was so happy to stop and meet them. When I got home and looked up the farm to see if I could tour/meet them sans fence. I discovered they are meant to be meat. I am heartbroken for all 100 of my new friends.
