Research:
Exploring how Autistic mothers/parents in non-heterosexual relationships, parenting at least one autistic child, experience and interpret parental blame

Much of the existing research on parental blame is on Autistic mothers with little considerations for intersectionality of participants. This study hopes to explore parental blame experiences of Autistic mothers/partners in non-heterosexual relationships.

Note on language:
I recognise that the way people define their identities, gender and relationships is personal. Society often places labels upon people without their input. Rather than applying rigid labels here, I invite participants to decide whether they feel this study is relevant to their experiences.

Who am I?
I am an AuDHD Master's student at Sheffield Hallam University and an Autistic mother looking to recruit participants for a relaxed, semi-structured online interview lasting 30-45 minutes about your experiences of parental blame.

Who can take part?
To participate in this research, you must:
· Be an autistic mother/partner (formally identified or self-identified) in a non-heterosexual relationship
· The partner of an autistic mother (any neurotype)
· Be parenting at least one autistic child (formally identified or self-identified)
· Aged 18 or over
· Live in the UK
· Be able to take part in an online interview with your partner*, conducted in English
*If your partner does not want to participate, it may be possible to do an individual interview

Accessibility
· Interview questions will be given in advance and reasonable adjustments will be made (e.g. cameras on or off)

Interested?
Any questions or to express an interest in joining the study, please contact myself, Lizzie Cook, via email at b1022022@hallam.shu.ac.uk

Supervisor: Stephen Connolly, s.connolly@shu.ac.uk

Ethical Approval Received from Sheffield Hallam University
