This is how our government has been corrupted: 1) Donors give huge sums to elect politicians 2) Elected officials rewrite rules in donors' favor 3) Donors make huge gains 4) Repeat This is why we must get Big Money out of politics — and support the candidates who will fix the system.

there are very serious (and smart) people who are starting to organize on the anti-AI, pro-human side. Multiple groups who are focused less on advertising the work currently and more on organizing folks/fundraising. I have hope!

In 2013, Meta wrote off billions of Zuckerberg's stock options as a "research expense." The IRS caught on and is working to recover the $355 MILLION they avoided. Now Meta's trying it again with their AI data centers—they've already saved $4 BILLION. Our tax code is so broken.

On the same day Trump announces that top tech firms have signed an accord to "self-police" their own AI development, we learned that OpenAI employees and security researchers were reportedly ignored when they brought safety concerns to the company's top executives. See the problem here?

Another OCPF filing, and the same pattern: More than 95% of the money raised by the Yes on 3 campaign in the first half of September came from just six corporate executives in private equity, venture capital, and investment banking. Don't let them buy our elections.

i feel like it is important to point out that there is nothing mutually exclusive between slowing down the development of a technology and shielding its creators from liability. i don't really know how or why that has been conflated so easily in the discourse. you can do one or both or neither.

Democrats' refusal to hold Amy Acton accountable for her recent anti-trans pivot enabled this. You cannot ask trans people to just ignore or look past stuff like this, you need to stand with us now. This gutter bigotry is unacceptable and disqualifying. Candidates like this *are* the greater evil

Giuliani and then Bloomberg knew it wasn't safe for students and others to return to that downtown radius, and yet Stuy kids were back in the classroom a month later. They cared more about projecting strength on Wall Street than the safety of children. Shame on them.
