Snowball is being a ball.
Photo of a mostly white calico with some brown and black spots and an orange tail. The cat is sleeping. Her body is curled into a tiny ball. She is sleeping on a bed with a very colorful bedspread. The bedspread has stripes of differently patterned fabric.

Just finished the ARC of Fringe Press's incredible debut publication by @chrismcginley.bsky.social Visceral, feminist, Jane Eyre meets Beowulf. I couldn’t put it down.
Image of the book's cover. It's a drawing of some nuns walking through a snowy landscape. The front nun is carrying an axe. Descending upon them is the giant open mouth of a monster. The monster is solid red.

Happy #caturday from Snowball who thought she'd help tonight cooking dinner.
Photograph of a mostly white cat with brown and black spots. The cat is sitting on a cookbook that is lying open on the kitchen counter. The cat is looking expectantly at the camera.

A story of women taking back their power back from men, set in a small village in 19th-century Bulgaria against a folkloric backdrop of vampires and spells. Visceral and intense, this short book is a fantastic read.

Did you know that Edgar Allan Poe wrote a novel? I didn't know until recently. Weird, creepy, and fantastical. A perilous adventure at sea.
Screenshot of the book cover for the novel The Narrative of Arthur Gorden Pym of Nantucket. Author is Edgar Allan Poe. The Book is a Penguin Classics. The cover art is a painting of an old clipper ship on the ocean with a large iceberg in the background.

Third year after planting and our golden delicious apple tree has flowers! I'm so excited. :-)
Close-up photograph of flowers and leaves on an apple tree. The flowers are pinkish-white and have water droplets on the petals. The leaves are veined and a deep green color.

The fuzzy trio.
Photo of a line of three cats sleeping on a blue blanket on top of a bookcase. The bookcase is low, and the top of the bookcase is under a window, so the cats are sleeping in front of the window. Two of the cats are calico. One is an orange tabby with white face and legs.

Snowball in the sun.
Photo of calico cat (mostly white with some colored spots and a colored tail)lying on a blue blanket on a bookshelf under a window. It's a sunny day, and the sun is shining over the cat. The cat lies on her stomach, her body curved such that her face is looking out the window.

I'm tired of people being horrible. writerbeware.blog/2026/03/27/w...
Screenshot from Writer Beware blog. Article title is: "Watch out for this scam impersonating editors at major publishing houses." Beneath the title is a cartoon of a person's face in profile. The person has a very long nose. The end of the very long nose is supporting a mask of the person's face. In other words, a visual portrayal of deception.

Happy first birthday to our intrepid colorful duo! They came to us at just 4 weeks old. Now they're all grown up. I'm so glad they'll always be together.
Two photos, each photo shows two calico cats (sisters) in front of a window. In the first photo, the cats are still tiny kittens. They are sleeping on a carpeted cat tree, touching each other. In the second photo, the two cats appear as they do now, at one year old. One cat is sitting up against the other cat that's lying down.

Currently re-reading (not sure how many times already), the Doc Savage adventure "They Died Twice." One of the best Doc adventures with a title reminiscent of James Bond.
Screenshot of the book cover for "They Died Twice." It's pulp style artwork depicting and attractive woman with her arms around the body of a shirtless, muscular man as both of them fall through the air. In the background is a dark wall depicting hieroglyphics. At the top of the book cover is written Doc Savage. The publication date is November, 1942. Price for the magazine is ten cents.

Finally read this incredible, disturbing book published in translation from the Dutch. It's rare to encounter such brilliant writing. It had me from the very first sentence.
Screenshot of the book cover for "My Heavenly Favorite" by author Lucas Rinjeveld. The cover background is green with what looks like a child’s drawing of a smiling dandelion or cotton candy. I’m not sure what the image is meant to depict.

Endorsed by celebrities everywhere. 😂
Photo of a male celebrity in a tuxedo seated among a crowd of other celebrities (maybe audience from Academy Awards?). He is looking toward the camera and smiling while appearing to offer a book. The book is my forthcoming novel, "A Bitten Plant," that has been very obviously pasted onto the photo. Above the photo is a caption that reads:

"I can't decide on which book to read next." Under that is the text: "Me." The caption suggests that the celebrity is offering my book to read next. His expression suggests this decision is obvious.

Tunnel kitty.
An orange and white cat is curled up inside the tunnel portion of a carpeted cat tower. He is facing the camera and sleeping. One rear leg and his tail are hanging out of the front of the tunnel. Part of a black and white cat can be seen lying on a carpeted platform beneath the tunnel. The cat tower/tunnel is in front of a window. Beyond the tunnel you can see some grass and trees through the window.

In exciting news, my debut feminist noir novel, "A Bitten Plant," is forthcoming from She Writes Press in February, 2027!
Mockup for the cover for my upcoming novel: A Bitten Plant. The title is written in large, plain white letters. Toward the bottom of the book is the subtitle: A Novel, and then my name: Liz Fyne.
The background color of the book cover is a dark pink. The art consists of three main parts.1. At the bottom, is an artistically rendered but anatomically correct drawing of the human heart. The arteries at the top branch into a collection of small vessels that fade toward the edges. The heart is colored purple and red. 2. From the top of the heart sprouts what appears to be a tree. The tree is dark green and is contained within a lighter green circle (representing the round planet). 3. Around the edges of the green circle, red and purple flowers sprout from within the tree image.

The book is set against a background of dark green foliage.

Apple is determined not to outgrow his favorite spot.
An orange and white cat has stuffed himself into a spot on his kitty tower that is too small for him. The kitty tower is in front of a window. The cat is sleeping despite the cramped quarters.

Fog frozen onto the landscape, outside the Munich airport.
Photo of a field and some trees from a distance. A fence is toward the front of the image. It’s a dreary, cloudy day. The trees and landscape are covered with what appears to be a thin layer of snow, but is actually frozen fog. It’s very beautiful.

Hello World! In amazing news, my #literary #novel, WHERE LIONS GO TO DIE, is forthcoming from the amazing She Writes Press in February, 2027! lizfyne.com/novels/ @pipelineartists.bsky.social @bookpipeline.bsky.social @littsburgh.bsky.social
Screenshot from my website. Includes book-related image made in Canva. A large circular ring contains an excerpt from a painting of a house in a field. A girl is laying partly over the ring and partly in the field, looking toward the house. A man with a lion's head is climbing along the inside of the ring looking at the girl. There is some text accompanying the image: When Camille takes a new job in the big city, her mission is to combat climate change. But after a man beats her on the street, she must join forces with a forensic artist and a medical examiner. Her new mission: to reclaim her own lost self. A melancholic noir novel reminiscent of The Long Goodbye, WHERE LIONS GO TO DIE is forthcoming from She Writes Press.

Goodbye #foster #kittens. On to your next foster home.
Very artistic photo of a very young orange and white kitten. The kitten is standing on a wooden floor looking into the camera. The sun is shining, beautifully illuminating the top of the kittens' head. Dark blue circles seem to surround the kitten, an effect of the sunlight on the dark blue sofa in the background.
