It's an HMO basically and functions like one. Unless you have something like Kaiser which is a medicare advantage program and know how to work that system....

Actually with the Medicare supplement and separate prescription plan, I was paying a lot- as much as the silver PPO plan I had when I was working, but was out of pocket only the $200/year deductible when I had multiple surgeries. That part is good! Just not very affordable

Medicare without buying a Medicare advantage program or Medicare supplement and a prescription insurance package isn't a low cost option. If you choose Medicare advantage and your income is low enough to make the Medicare payment more affordable you have limited Dr options and long wait times
