The Golden Circle Tropical Recipe Book differs -

Recipe from the Golden Circle Tropical Recipe Book (editions 1960’s-1970’s) for Hearty Rissole Dinner. Image of the dish displays a circle of crumbed rissoles alternating with standing half circles of lightly grilled tinned pineapple arranged around a ceramic whole pineapple ringed with thick chunks of carrot and the whole platter edged with peas.
Further mind-boggling details appear in the actual recipe.

Cover of the Golden Circle Tropical Recipe Book displaying parfait desserts in tall glasses and a Christmas ham adorned with rings of tinned pineapple. This book is an important Australian cultural artifact which was sold in a couple of editions during the 1960’s and 70’s at the Golden Circle cannery in Queensland.

Prim is not very smart. Nor is she affectionate. But sometimes she is amusing.

“This huge cat has been assigned to you. You must accept this situation and find joy in it.”

It’s a sorry business letting them go. Gordie Ruskin Thompson left us April 16th and I’m crying now knowing how Calvin’s departure will be for you. Still, Gordie was a comical cat, a fluffy fool who brought us joy in the moment and great memories now. 🧡🧡🧡

I’ve said it before - it’s a vocation.

Gordie left us in April. A furry fool, talkative, comical and a talented catcher of moths and flies. Much missed.

Gordie, a ginger and white cat, sits his rear end, loaf-style, on a little step stool but being too large must secure himself by planting his front paws on the floor to prevent himself sliding off.

Some journalists need to look more closely at the numbers too. Trump won with 49.9% of votes cast. Yes, he cleaned up in the electoral college but not with the majority of voters. There is no sweeping mandate, he just squeaked in. Tragic that more eligible voters didn’t show up for their democracy.
