With the levels of stress and anxiety I’ve been feeling for the last… year, I’ve turned to Duolingo chess. Just match after match against Oscar. It’s a problem, but it’s how I’m coping. I’ve sadly abandoned French for this and I’m not sure I’m a better chess player for it.

Watching late Jack Hannah Passport. Knowing he would be diagnosed with Alzheimer’s a few years later, the signs are definitely there and it reminds me of my Dad’s early stage dementia. Seems smart they turned his wife into a cohost of the show. Still, his enthusiasm for wildlife is so infectious!

I never have any recollection of dreams that I have during sleep. So when people describe minute details from dreamland, I can never relate. What I DO get are intense waking flashbacks to times I’ve administered CPR. Feelings of stress & anxiety so tangible I can cut it with a knife. Thanks brain!

Last night I was reading a history book covering my hometown. The book is fairly recent. Shocked (maybe I shouldn’t be) to see a chapter about the KKK in the area. The book goes on to provide a list of names, and addresses of 100+ members from the 1920s.
