The actual "defense" spending we need right now *is* climate action. Plus massive investments in firefighting, forestry, environmental protection. Between Ford and Carney's gutting of environmental protection, we're increasingly unprepared to handle what's coming for us.

Reminder that Carney has cut funding for Natural Resources Canada, Environment and Climate Change Canada, Indigenous and Northern Affairs, and Indigenous Services. And he has rolled back climate protections, abandoned emissions targets, and is building more pipelines.

Carney:

It's this bad right now partly due to the fact that the Premier of Ontario (Doug Ford) cut millions out of our emergency firefighting budget and is gutting our environmental protection agencies. He's a corrupt, loathesome scumbag. Sorry everyone else is suffering for our mistakes. :(

My Dad used to work in a lab with Ce-137 sources & he still looked at this cable with a mixture of horror and awe. Poppa grew up in northern ontario in the 1930s, so this was basically par for the course for him as far as health & safety was concerned.

Past experience working in this industry tells me this man is exactly as full of shit as he seems. I worked for an Intuit competitor and spent the entire time being incredibly alarmed at the lax attitude taken to customer access to their data, to say nothing of security vulnerabilities.
