it's pretty fucking cool that you can just add a NixOS configuration into your flake, add your preferred installer module, then build a fully functioning custom NixOS installer.

my only gripe is that it's sometimes hard to get eyes on pull requests in such a big repo. I think I have an open one from quite a while ago on a module that never got merged.

in the past month or so I've been futzing around in Ghidra with Halo CE for PC (the shitty Gearbox port that I grew up with), but today I discovered there is some work being done on reversing a build of the Xbox PAL version which a beta shipped with a PDB file on the disk. hehe, whoops!

for some reason FedEx made their iOS app request *full access* to your calendar instead of write-only access. if you don't give it that (and have notifications enabled for a package) it just endlessly asks you to turn on full calendar access every time you reload a package status.

a few years ago I rolled my own Velocity plugin that did something like this. to be honest I didn’t even realize you could forward to other servers instead of proxying. it was also wayyyyy overcomplicated with a daemon per server hosting a REST API for the plugin to start/stop it. fun to make tho!

this head cold has got me so out of it that I don't have the brain capacity to play ff7r, which makes me sad since I was really enjoying it. :( and dalamud isn't back yet, so no ffxiv for now. wife isn't ready to play 7.4 anyway I think, she's busy playing nfs carbon that I helped set up :3

unfortunately, today the TVs with fox "news" were "fixed" (if you can even call it that). dunno why they just said "please wait" on them for like a week, but it was nice to not see that for a while. whatever though, I prefer being closer to the one with food network on it, lol

with that said, I am at almost 2000 hours in XIV 😬 once I have my crafters leveled (almost done), and then I level all my combat classes (still got a ways to go), I’ll probably mostly step away from the game for a while, and bury myself in some other universe. MMOs be like a second job.
