Ooooh...I'd be all into this book. You could do an entire chapter of all the different types of Muppets (e.g. Is Big Bird a puppet? How about Grover? Oscar the Grouch? Snuffleupagus? Slimey?)

One of the things I love the most is watching kids find the joy in math. Taught my kiddos how to play Under a Million today (a game I came up with to help them practice exponential form). So much engagement and collaboration (along with some strategy development and competition : )
Two students filling in a game sheet that contains six rounds of play. The first column shows numbers in exponential form, the second in expanded, and the third is the value of the move on that row.

The floor plan for Level 0 leads me to believe maybe? But then again, they don't exist in the floor plan for the building 🤷🏻‍♀️ I did walk up the stairs from Level -1 and see what's supposed to be at -0 (the family space), but I couldn't figure out how to get to +0 via the stairs.

I wonder how they decided on -0 and +0 as floor options. Also, intrigued by the Braille for - and +. #NoticeWonder

In Paris for the weekend and managed to see the Granny Life piece by @mathgrrl.com in the exhibit at Maison Poincaré! They didn’t allow any photos in the exhibit though, so just have this one of the catalogue outside :) #MathArt

The fifth year of our MS Math Art Lunch Club is off to a gentle start. Fewer kids than previous years, but still the same amount of joy. Today was the first time in all these years that we explored the Fold and Cut Theorem. Lots of exploration, trial and error, and imagination! #MathArt

I've found commercial versions online, but want to try to cut our own set instead of buying one. Will probably not get around to experimenting until late March as our maker space is packed with robotics team work at the moment.

No as I just thought of it this week! The eighth graders are my first batch of Math Art kiddos (the founding group) and we used to try to do something outdoors at least once each semester and thought it'd be lovely for them to wrap up their time with this as it's a favorite activity.

The Math Art Lunch Club kiddos had so much fun with the small spirograph sets I cut from scrap acrylic...they even started making little spirograph monsters! It was 30 mins of play and joy. What's not to love? I dream of cutting a large spirograph that will work with chalk outdoors.

I’ve always just done the old -30 then ÷2 (since I’m a Celsius person all the time way). Which going in the other direction should be easier (double then +30)? Works for most ambient temps, except for the below freezing and heatwave ones, I guess?

I've done 'coupons' for various things that folks might need (e.g. covering a recess or lunch duty). Maybe an offer for a coffee (instead of a gift card that might be more expensive than a single coffee + the company)?
