her cheeks were slightly pink as she smiled at him, shrugging quietly. “well, your friend is not here, so i shall make the judgement of you now.” she commented calmly, and she paused for a moment getting her bearings. “well, i am touched that you find me as a kind of ‘right person,’” she hummed ——

her eyes laced with empathy. “i am so sorry,” she spoke quietly. “i know what that’s like, watching someone die before your eyes and have it be repeated over and over again without fail, in daylight and in dreams.” she paused for a moment. “i wish i could do something for you.”

she nodded in understanding, lowering her hand. “it will return to you, i am sure.” she spoke gently, offering him a kind smile. her eyes softened. “come, i believe the hotel is close, and we must make haste for your friend.” she added with a soft smile.

“sweet jesus,” felicity uttered softly. now it made sense; she looked like her deceased lover. well isn’t that something. “i am sorry, chloe, truly.” she spoke softly. “that sounds horrible. but i am… i am not her, though i may look it.”

felicity sighed, out of her depth and slightly exhausted. she rubbed her head. “look, you fainted, you’re still in my apothecary. i am still not the person you think i am, i am not dead, and my name is felicity. that’s it.” she didn’t mean to blurt that out, but she was tired and stressed herself.

it was more than sadness for her, but she didn’t go into it. it got more convoluted and painful as she thought of it. she shook her head at the thought. “a lot of the people hide it very well and don’t speak of it. i am like that, too.” she spoke sincerely, offering a kind smile. “it is hard, ——
