why is the right side locked? is it just that specific interaction or is it something that can happen often?

the moon is closer than it was yesterday

I don't usually care to look at engine updates but since 4.7 Godot has been on a roll with awesome updates, actively waiting for 4.8

it's not flashy work but it does feel good modularizing a 1000+ line game jam monolith down by a few hundred lines. still I wish I had time to do something flashier today :v #gamedev #solodev #godotengine

wow the art direction is awesome, are you billboarding 2d sprites in a 3d world to get that effect? looks so cool

Looks cool, do different units have different elemental attacks that affect differently typed enemies?

Devlog: hover a stat to see the math behind it. The tricky part was showing how symbols affect each other without overstimulating players with numbers. Hiding the full breakdown in a tooltip while keeping the final value visible up front felt like a good solution #indiedev #gamedev #godotengine

Stunning, I feel like just a few more ambient particles could make it feel more alive

Oh awesome just found it thanks for the tip, will definitely serve as good inspiration. I'd also like to try my hand at trying to make my own vocabulary/terms for it but idk how far I'll go with that

oh bet, I've definitely heard of Neuromancer, sounds like I found my next saga of books to read hehe

me too, I haven't read any books with it but I literally looked up a list yesterday. My go-to reference is cyberpunk edgerunners, I think it just does a great job painting this bleak capitalist corporate dystopia, if you recommend Snow Crash I'm all over it

I hadn't heard that term peephole storytelling before but yeah you're absolutely right (god I sound like an AI) it's not the kind of game where lore is prevalent but rather it's shown in flavor and other smaller parts. Whatever the case, I intend to update more, thanks for engaging, seriously

ooo yeah, thanks I think those are strong ideas for events in game and lore dropping. I still haven't landed on the underlying lore/plot yet but I'm playing around with some ideas, I appreciate any and all feedback and ideas, be presumptuous :D

didn't know Chiitan was into devlog posts, if I ever lose my way, at least I'll know they were rooting for me from the start 🦦

Departments, so far, will affect what kind of enemies you go against and the weight of the rewards given after each combat. At it's core it's a slot machine battler and the symbols have different department tags and ideally you'd try to build your ideal machine with departments as synergies

Devlog: got the floor map generator to actually feel like an org chart. Slay the Spire inspired corporate satire roguelite progression #indiedev #gamedev #godot

So true, I have so many times agonized and gone back to the drawing board over a decision I already made because I thought there would be a better solution. I tried to make a "perfect" decision before actually taking any action

oh awesome I didn't know, I always wonder where these small indie games get all their assets coz surely they're not modeling them all. Makes sense it's the goat Kenney

Which do you think is the best way to rate movies/tv shows/games...? 0-100% like Rotten Tomatoes? 0-10 like IMDb? 1-5 like Letterboxd? Are there any phycological reasons to choose one over the other?

Any tips on getting the users local time to the server? Right now it just gets the time from where the server is located but I want it to update for every user based on their timezones midnight
