Created this (with the help of our STEM teacher because he has a 3D printer) for my 1:1 student that is learning his short "a" sound. I love it so much.

What I begin to sound like when I read historical fiction 😆
Conversation between Discord screen names LadyGaddrael and Gaddrael.

Lady: "I fear I want chips."

Gaddrael: "Quckie and I'll get you some."

Lady: "You would have me starve if I deny you relations?"

Gaddrael: "Geezus woman."

Raising a cat lady.
Two oak chairs. The one on the left has two cats, the left cat is a calico, the right one is a black cat. In the right chair there is a young girl with long, curly brown hair and she is watching on an iPad and petting the cats. Both chairs are in front of an electric fireplace that has various electronics and other Knick knacks

Had some leftover pie crust so I made an apple pie filling and folded it up. Turned out pretty good for an impromptu baked good.

My third grader’s opening paragraph is awesome.
“Pluto Should Not Be a Planet”
3, 2, 1 blast off (spaceship noises). Hey you now, did you know that Pluto isn’t a planet. Probably you heard the news that Pluto isn’t a planet, but do you know why it isn’t a planet? I think it shouldn’t be a planet but that’s not the reason. I will tell you the reason why Pluto is not a planet in this paragraph with these three reasons: it’s too small, too young, and it crosses Neptune’s orbit.

From Wild Faith by Talia Lavin I see this with climate change rhetoric and so much more. Such a powerful statement. Highly recommend the book. I’ve been reading the ARC but I just ordered a copy from my local bookstore.
“American Christians. In seeking to hasten the end of the world, evangelicals often make it worse for others who do not anticipate being ‘snatched up into the clouds’ to sit by Christ’s side as the seas boil and Satan takes possession of the earth. For those who are not perennially looking out for signs of Armageddon and awaiting it as a child waits for a father to return, the drama of Apocalypse looks merely like a collection of people who, in waiting for the world to end, are actively worsening life in the present.”

Felt like camping tonight. Needed to hear frogs and crickets and pretend summer was coming.

Finished. The perfect creeping dread, occult, Appalachian, secrets. everything that makes a great horror. Totally worth ignoring everything going on in the world to devour this book.
Cover of the book Memorials by Richard Chizmar.

The cover shows a winding road to the right with a roadside memorial on the left bottom of the cover. There is a cross with an occult symbol drawn on the middle. A teddy bear lays against the bottom of the cross in between burning white candles and wilting bouquets of flowers and empty liquor bottles. The bottom right of the cover you see a timestamp from a video camera. The road goes off into a thick forest. There is a car headlight visible in the middle right of the cover. “Richard Chizmar” is at the top of the cover and “Memorials” is two inches below, dead center of the cover.

Just finished and I will anxiously await the next installment!!! This had so many fantastic elements and she had you rooting for some of the most unlikely characters. Everything about it was stuff that I absolutely love. Highly recommend!! @staciemwrites.bsky.social
The cover of The Witch’s Secret by Stacie Murphy. There is a woman facing away from the cover, with brown hair, braided and gathered in a complicated hairstyle on her head with several combs. There is a garland made of many types of greenery including evergreen boughs. She wears a green dress with a white lace collar. The title is in the middle of her back and the bottom of the cover shows a forest landscape at sunset (or sunrise) with orange sky above the tree line.

When I went to pick up my copy of Witchcraft for Wayward Girls, my old coworker grabbed this and told me to read it and then bring it back (perks of working at a bookstore). Upon finished it, I can now see why my description of Hendrix’s novel made her think of this one. It’s a goodie.
Cover of the book Small Things Like These by Claire Keegan. The cover shows a green sky with snowflakes falling on several white roofs. The title and author are placed in the middle of the green sky. “shortlisted for the Booker Prize” is at the bottom of the cover. An “Oprah’s Book club 2024” sticker is at the top right of the cover.
